What is out of synch is the jboss-client.jar you are using. The JBoss-2.3 org.jboss.ejb.plugins.jrmp.interfaces.HomeProxy has a serialVersionUID = 432426690456622923L: client 571serialver -classpath jboss-client.jar org.jboss.ejb.plugins.jrmp.interfaces.HomeProxy
