The JBoss Tools plugins seem to create a more slim skeleton. In fact, the JBoss Tools is so noob-friendly that I think there ought to be a section "Getting started with Seam, using JBoss Tools" section in then manual since clicking through to a workable example is much more simple than the seam

Max you pointed me into another direction which helped me to find the reason for this unexpected behavior. It seams as if seam-gen / hibernatetools cannot handle table names having the following format: a single character followed by underscore '_' followed by any other character sequence.

Perhaps it is related to the fact(according to mysql documentation) that mysql will silently change the char(32) field (which shows as char(32) in the schema) to a varchar(32) that is actually stored. If you describe the table from mysql, it shows char(32), perhaps this was read to generate the
