Hi
Why isent Jboss part of the list of vendors that supports jsr168.
http://www.jcp.org/en/jsr/detail?id=168
in the documentation for jboss Portal i found this :
As of today, JBoss portal is fully JSR168 1.0 compliant, that means that any
JSR168 portlet will behave as it should inside the portal.
Is there any jboss Portal book to recomande, if not, is there any good portlet
book that are not so vendor specifik for using with jboss portal.

if you have all your struts jar in the war, just copy the war to
jboss-home/server/deploy that is jboss webapps directory.

i still dont understand what you try to do, a use case would be nice,
yes j_security_check is hadled av the container, when you try to access a
restricted url the container redirect you to the login.jsp with your
j_security_check action.
do you try to login from a standalone java client or one
why cant you do other things when the user logges in to the application when
you use j_security_check ? can you explain more what you whant to do ?

You dont nead to deploy the client on the server. you just do a lookup on the
JNDI server for finding your bean. you nead to have one jndi.propeties file in
your classpath.
sample jndi.properties
| java.naming.factory.initial=org.jnp.interfaces.NamingContextFactory
| java.naming.provider.ur
|
| My Application
|
|
|
| web-app.war
| /myapp
|
|
|
|
| ejb-app.jar

you can specify in jboss-service.xml url that deploymentscanner check in. on
default it only check in deploy catalouge in the jboss that have bean booted.
but the name of the catalouge your application is in most have a extension
that are sar, war, ear, jar. in your case myapplication.war

same way that you deploy war files

Hi
some quastions:
1) Is it possible to run jboss as a service in windows ?
2) How can i find the ObjectName for a deployd ear/war/jar. I whant to specify
explicit dependenci for 2 ear archive. One example for that would be nice, what
i write in jboss-service.xml ?
thanks

u can use PrefixDeploymentSorter, you put all 4 war files direct under deploy.
and put one prefix order.
Sample:
1-a.war
2-b.war
3-c.war
4.d.war
and jboss deploy the archive in that order.
Non-prefixed packages are deployed before prefixed packages
That is not the default behaviour in jboss.
Th
you most make a jboss-web.xml and specify in the
element your path. place the file beside web.xml.

JMX console and Web console are deployed on jboss like a ordinary application,
so you just nead to set a ordinary Authentication and Authorization controll,
this is already provided, you nead just uncomment.
jmxconsole:
\deploy\jmx-console.war\WEB-INF\jboss-web.xml
webconsole: \deploy\management
Hi
I have a strange problem, i deploy my helloworld portlet, and i see the war
file in web-console, but i cant runit. the name of the war file is
helloworld.war.
i try to run it with this url localhost:8080/helloworld
i get: The requested resource (/helloworld) is not available.
it is no problem
u can first remove the root.war.
If u have a ear file set / in application.xml
if u have a war file set / in jboss-web.xml
