As promised in an earlier post to
jboss-development BlueJADE is now available for public download from http://sourceforge.net/projects/bluejade
BlueJADE makes the FIPA compliant, open source JADE
agent system (see http://sharon.cselt.it/projects/jade/)
into a manageable service under JBoss. Initially we used the Bluestone
application server - hence the name "BlueJADE". The work on agent
industrialization was performed within HP labs as part of a larger agent
research agenda. When that work was discontinued HP agreed to let us release
BlueJADE into the open source community in the hopes that it will help others
and that work in this important area will continue. There are many interesting
challenges to be addressed in this area and it is our hope that by offering this
we will encourage others in the agent and J2EE worlds to help further this
effort. A similar announcement was made to the JADE community today.
This package enables the JADE (version 2.6) agent
platform to be managed as a service under the JBoss (version 3.0) J2EE
application server. For full details, please download the package and consult
the top level index.html file. This package includes documentation, full source,
and two example applications.
