Now it sounds like your cvs root is not set correctly:
cvs -z3 -d:pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/cvsroot/jboss co -r Branch_3_2 jboss-3.2
Works for me. (you may have to issue a cvs login first)

You must include the branch or you get crud. I’m pretty sure the branch is mentioned in the admin/dev guide.
