There's simply too many repetitions in a Jenkins job (5+) across the various plugins and steps. The use of a String variable or Choice parameter simplifies the set up and minimizes errors copy using Jenkins Copy Item for a new job. My Corp follows a Job naming convention of - for static builds where path would be $/APP/Branch. If a variable has been defined - either Environment, Jenkins Global, Slave or job specific (either static, choice, etc.) prior to invocation, plugin should resolve that at invocation and use resolved value. This is on Jenkins master (not running in a Pod) version 1.650. Would it be better if we could provide documentation in setting up k8s build slaves, on a non-k8s jenkins master. Then this ticket would be moot.

Yes, would love to see the ability to specify a target directory as a job configuration property. Also would be nice to allow the user to specify the path on a job by job basis if possible. There could be multiple jobs using this plugin concurrently, each receiving an attachment with potentially the same name. If they all went into the same folder, you could imagine how confusing it would get, even with the uniquely timestamped folder names. And to be able to do it through the Jenkins web interface instead of having to open up an .ini or .properties file to change java.io.tmpdir would be great. do you want the attachments to download into the configured directory (overwriting files with the same name) OR should it create subfolders using a date timestamp (e.g. `parentFolder/MMdd-HHmmssSSS/`)? So I'm using Perl scripts to process the attachment. In my particular case, I would like to be able to specify a static directory name in which my Perl script will know exactly where to find the attachment. I understand your approach to name the folders with the timestamp to avoid overwriting, but it introduces an element of unpredictability for me – I would have to loop through a number of folder to find the file that I'm looking for, assuming we have multiple different jobs running concurrently using this plugin and depositing their misc attachments into the same temp dir. I don't know which timestamp-named folder to look into that has my attachment. It would be nice if you had a user-defined property pmt_overwriteAttachment, which if set to 'yes', would overwrite the attachment in the specified folder. If set to 'no', maybe you could do something like what you're doing now, but name the folder by adding the timestamp to the end of the filename, i.e. helloworld.pdf-143559433. It would help to make things a little bit more predictable when scripting and not have to do a linear iteration through all of the plainly timestamp-named folders. But to make things simple for you, I think most users would be fine to have the files overwritten each time something new comes in with the same name. Make them pay for the premium version of the plugin if they want something more elaborate.

I noticed that if you have more than one "Trigger/call builds on other project", and the first one is Unstable, but the last one is Stable, it works just fine. Only if the last one is unstable it also fails the promotion. Rolling back our environment will re-introduce JENKINS-31406 JENKINS-31320 for us. Getting a lot of support calls, and we cannot edit all the jobs to do the workaround. A quick fix would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. This problem replicates regardless of the JDK or the operating system.*Reproduction*The easiest way to reproduce the error is to use qemu to virtualize a 37 core system. You can do that with the -smp parameter. For example, for testing I run:{code:none}qemu-system-x86_64 -hda ubuntu.img -m 4096 -smp 48{code}Once you have a VM with more than 37 cores setup, install Jenkins 1.652 and configure it to use HTTPS. Attempt to start it and connect to either the HTTP or the HTTPS port. The connection will time out for either port with the server effectively locked until you send it a SIGTERM. Please refer to the attached log file to see its start process.*Why is this important?*You may ask - who is running Jenkins on that big of a server? Well, with containerization technologies (e.g. Docker) taking a center stage, we are seeing more and more deployments where there is no VM involved and hence a container gets a slice of CPU but has visibility to all of the processors on a system. The official Docker image of Jenkins suffers from this defect. Sure a user can set up their own reverse proxy to run TLS through, but it adds unneeded complexity for users looking to containerize their Jenkins environment.*Solution*I've done the work of reducing the surface area of root cause analysis. I removed the entire jenkins war from the jenkins winstone runner (https://github.com/jenkinsci/winstone) and ran a simple hello world war instead. With HTTPS enabled, the issue still reproduced. It took a lot of fiddling to determine that it was exactly at 37 cores in which the hang occurred.Lastly, I tried the exact same reproduction steps with winstone-3.2-SNAPSHOT. Luckily, with the upgrade to embedded Jetty in the 3.2 version the issue is resolved._Can we upgrade the next Jenkins release to use the winstone-3.2 component?_This would be the easiest and the best fix. I would be happy to contribute to any efforts that would allow for us to get this into a release.

Attempt to start it and connect to either the HTTP or the HTTPS port. The connection will time out for either port with the server effectively locked until you send it a SIGTERM. Please refer to the attached log file to see its start process.*Why is this important?*You may ask - who is running Jenkins on that big of a server? Well, with containerization technologies (e.g. Docker) taking a center stage, we are seeing more and more deployments where there is no VM involved and hence a container gets a slice of CPU but has visibility to all of the processors on a system. The official Docker image of Jenkins suffers from this defect. Sure a user can set up their own reverse proxy to run TLS through, but it adds unneeded complexity for users looking to containerize their Jenkins environment.*Solution*I've done the work of reducing the surface area of root cause analysis. I removed the entire jenkins war from the jenkins winstone runner (https://github.com/jenkinsci/winstone) and ran a simple hello world war instead. With HTTPS enabled, the issue still reproduced. It took a lot of fiddling to determine that it was exactly at 37 cores in which the hang occurred.Lastly, I tried the exact same reproduction steps with winstone-3.2-SNAPSHOT. Luckily, with the upgrade to embedded Jetty in the 3.2 version the issue is resolved. _*Can _Can we upgrade the next Jenkins release to use the winstone-3.2 component? * _This would be the easiest and the best fix. I would be happy to contribute to any efforts that would allow for us to get this into a release.

The parameter is read and shows up in the build's Parameters list after running the job. However, it doesn't seem to respect the value assigned to it, e.g. 'c:\testFolder'. I saw that it dumped the attachment into the 'C:\apache-tomcat-8.0.29\temp\ \ [some hashed named folder]\' but did not put it into the c:\testFolder. Incidentally, I did also try different variations, e.g. ".\testFolder" and ".", but none of them seemed to work.Also, I did not uninstall version 1.021 before installing your prebuilt patch.
