 yes quite probably (and haven't noticed lately at all myself). If this isn't an issue we could close it in favour of spending time on things like: JENKINS-37137 to improve the subjective experience.

 Tom FENNELLY ugh. yes. Just googled and there is an endless series of finger pointing and blaming of babel. Oh wait, babel blames core-js: https://phabricator.babeljs.io/T1099 It seems it is to do with how babel "transpiles" classes for firefox. I guess my question would be if we can have it target certain browsers without transpiling that can run ES6 natively (which would be firefox?) https://github.com/zenorocha/clipboard.js/issues/141 Babels transpilling: https://github.com/react-bootstrap/react-bootstrap/issues/550 (complete with 404'ing issue to babel that they creatively deleted). This one claims if you inherit from something built in, you will get this: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/33858349/fixing-mutating-the-prototype-of-an-object-in-babeljs-6 this seems possibly plausible in our case? (although odd chrome doesn't complain). It goes on: https://github.com/zloirock/core-js/issues/46 (this one implies might be ignorable). I think we can park this unless we see specific issues with firefox.

 Looking at the code, this seems to be more of a general Jenkins issue than a plugin one, but I had to pick a place to file it, and this is where I'm seeing it. If I use dot (.) to represent the current directory, findFiles fails to find anything. Here's sample pipeline script and output.

node {
touch file: 'oneFile.txt'
sh 'test -d dir/target || mkdir -p dir/target'
touch file: 'dir/anotherFile.txt'
touch file: 'dir/target/targetFile.txt'
def period_star = findFiles glob: './*'
def star = findFiles glob: '*'
def period_doublestar = findFiles glob: './**'
def doublestar = findFiles glob: '**'
def dir_doublestar = findFiles glob: 'dir/**'
def period_doublestar_target_doublestar = findFiles glob: './**/target/**'
def doublestar_target_doublestar = findFiles glob: '**/target/**'
echo "*: ${period_star.length} ${star.length}"
echo "**: ${period_doublestar.length} ${doublestar.length} ${dir_doublestar.length}"
echo "**/target/**: ${period_doublestar_target_doublestar.length} ${doublestar_target_doublestar.length}"
}

 Let's assume the following scenario. Repository URL: http://somewhere/ethermac Use custom workspace: /somewhere/Jenkins_Questa_plugin_test The build script looks like: cd sim/scripts module load questa/10.5c vrun -mseed $RANDOM -nolocalrerun -noreuseseeds -clean regression mv VRMDATA ../.. It took a long time that I need the last line above. At first I thought I should put sim/scripts/VRMDATA for VRMDATA Directory, but it didn't work. It seems VRMDATA should exist under the custom workspace. The location must be more flexible.

 I'm looking at both patches that are attached here - it seems the test cases that break as a result of these changes are just commented out. Can you explain why they are no longer needed? Also, can you add a test case to exercise the path this is creating?

[JIRA] (JENKINS-36121) Github Branch Source plugin trips api rate limit

  Re: Github Branch Source plugin trips api rate limit

 I'm seeing the rate limit exhausted on a repo with just a hundred or so branches - this repo has a similar number of PRs, so the existing options about what gets built don't provide me with any help. Is there any way I can control the frequency of branch indexing? It seems to be happening far, far too frequently for this repo (every few minutes by the looks?!) Is it doing something silly like triggering a full branch indexing run when it gets a 'new branch created' webhook? Otherwise I can't see why it would need to reindex so often. Seems to be exacerbated by lack of visibility into how often branch indexing is triggering (you can only see the last run, not the frequency or history of runs, so it's easy to miss the fact it's scanning every few minutes, and consuming vast amounts of API requests.)

 If you're interested in trying the latest change to the git plugin, it may include a fix for some of the cases reported here. For example, if you rely on the processing of ~/.ssh/config to connect to your git repository, then the most recent git plugin change will allow you to use command line git to scan within the multi-branch plugin. Refer to the prototype build if you're willing to help test it.

 This happens when you save the configuration before the configuration page is loaded completely. Values for "Default Choice" are loaded dynamically and "Default Choice" gets empty before they are loaded. I'll see whether I can resolve this issue.

 A possible workaround for this issue is using a wrapper for vrun. % cat /opt/mentor/questa-10.5c/questasim/bin/vrun_wrapper #!/bin/sh module load questa/10.5c vrun and you put the full path of this wrapper in Path to Questa VRM Executable. It seems almost working, but I saw a strange error. [ERROR]: Vcover executable '/opt/mentor/questa-10.5c/questasim/bin/vcover_wrapper' not found. Returning empty coverage results. Recording finished. Build step 'Publish Questa VRM Regression Results' changed build result to UNSTABLE Finished: UNSTABLE

 Although help message says "Set path to Questa VRM executable. This can be just "vrun" or a complete path. ", it seems Jenkins process needs to have the complete environment of Questa. Even if you specify the full path of vrun, it is not sufficient because you need also the license environment. If Jenkins process has to have the complete environment of Questa, you cannot easily switch Questa version. This is very inconvenient. We need a Post-build Action field like execute shell for build.

 Also seeing this issue - blocking us from migrating our build to Jenkins.I expect we're supposed to be seeing --volumes-from instead of -vJenkins: 2.17Docker: 1.10.3The demo doesn't mount /var/lib/jenkins or any other host path into the jenkins host container, and it doesn't appear to use slave containers to run the workflow steps, so I'm not sure how this works in the demo case either... I'd like to reopen this issue as it doesn't appear to be working properly and there are no good docs that I can find on how to set up the Jenkins master and slave containers.  I'll give it a day or two and re-open if I don't hear anything.

 Issue Running Jenkins on PowerPC (ppc64le), when trying to use SSH-Agent we are getting below error: ``` [ssh-agent] Caused by: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: could not locate stub library in jar file. https://github.com/jnr/jnr-ffi/commit/6d8cdc0ce1a5d6dcfbec5c3b635bfe3232088273
 So compatibility could be provided by upgrading the following dependencies:

 When you install blueocean into a brand new jenkins (UX) plugin is installed from experimental update center , during install it won't work even if there are no gives error due to certain plugin upgrades required not able to resolve guice dependency as other plugin injecting instance is not loaded yet. I have a parameterized build (copied from an existing job) in jenkins. While building, my parameter is getting replaced by a white space. Here I am sharing what I have. Parameter Name: "BuildDate" (I tried using %% and ${} but no luck) Windows batch command: copy \Network_drive\dir1\dir2\dir3%BuildDate%\filename*.zip . Output from jenkins console: c:\jenkins\workspace\"my_build_job_name>copy \\Network_drive\dir1\dir2\dir3\filename*.zip . \Network_drive\dir1\dir2\dir3\filename*.zip The system cannot find the path specified. 0 file(s) copied. c:\jenkins\workspace\my_build_job_name>exit 1 Build step 'Execute Windows batch command' marked build as failure Notifying upstream projects of job completion Finished: FAILURE Any help? At this point BlueOcean doesn't have native matrix project support. till it doesn't have it, UI should redirect the user to class matrix job page when user clicks on the matrix job. >From the pipeline object (/pipelines/:id API)

Determine if it's Matrix project type: look for hudson.matrix.MatrixProject capability
If it's matrix capability then use link's href to redirect the user to the received href pointing to class job. href is going to be path so it should be appended to jenkins base url before redirection

 It seems FileBinding is not working. I've tried this on master and slaves, with the same result:

Jenkinsfile

node {
def tmp = pwd tmp: true
echo "TMP: $tmp"
withCredentials([[$class: 'FileBinding', credentialsId: 'bitbucket-rrbuild-store-helper-credential',
  variable: 'CREDENTIALS']]) {
sh "echo '${env.CREDENTIALS}' > file.txt"
}
sh 'cat file.txt'
sh 'ls -laR $(dirname $(dirname $(dirname $(cat file.txt'
sh 'ls -la $(dirname $(dirname $(cat file.txt)))'
sh 'ls -la $(dirname $(cat file.txt))'
sh 'cat $(cat file.txt)'
}

 And get this:

Started by user dsobral
DatadogBuildListener.java: Started build!
DatadogBuildListener.java: Using unix hostname found via `/bin/hostname -f`. Hostname: sfdev-061.richrelevance.com

 *NOTE: The description on this JIRA is a bit out of date ... better to read the conversation in the comments.* Maybe we should change the description to reflect the main piece of work that needs to take place here? Already changed the summary to reflect that. *Reproduction steps*# Go to a branch tab# Click the run button of a branch# Toast pops up "queued"*Expected (as per JENKINS-35813)*# Go to a branch tab# Click on the run button of a branch # Toast pops up "OPEN" where clicking open will open the result modal for the run in the queued stateThere is enough [data in the response|https://github.com/jenkinsci/blueocean-plugin/tree/master/blueocean-rest#build-a-pipeline] to open a pipeline result in the queued state. *Additional issue*Also if I click on the run multiple times it will queue multiple times yet I get no feedback.In scope: * Tests to capture this

 The payload contains a `scm` section. In the Jenkins 2.0 pipeline-as-code paradigm, a Jenkinsfile could contain this to define a scm: ``` stage 'Checkout' git 'https://github.com/nasqueron/tests-prod-environment-behaves-correctly.git' ``` When this method is used, `scm` section remains empty.

 Marked as blocked by JENKINS-36376 since we want to use the capabilities API to drive this and right now we'd need to key off the _class value, which we are trying to avoid.

 James Dumay it looks like "rerun" (aka the /replay API) works for pipelines and multi-branch pipelines. If so, should we enable it for both, or stick with MBP only? Thanks.

 Per discussion with Vivek Pandey I am reopening so we can add some Capabilities to help the UI make some decisions: 1. Need a capability to indicate a freestyle job. Right now pipeline and freestyle jobs are both "PipelineImpl", and the capabilities returned by them are identical. 2. We should add capabilities that differentiate between a Pipeline and a Branch. Right now the only option is to look at the "BranchImpl" class.

 Steven Christou Would be viable, provided it doesn't break things for anyone currently using it successfully. E.g. print a deprecation warning for them and otherwise work, and print a useful error message otherwise. Just removing the parameter and getting something like "This argument doesn't exist" has the potential to break users' instances.

 Pulling this ticket into the sprint and working it, since we have numerous tickets now that deal with Toast, and we really need a "ToastService" so Toasts can easily be added to the UI via a simple method call, e.g.

toastService.push({
message: "ABC",
action: "My Link",
})

[JIRA] (JENKINS-31094) Proposal: Jenkins Configuration DSL

  Re: Proposal: Jenkins Configuration DSL

 So I finally got around to coming back to this, after KK showed me this in May. I'd say that both Joshua & KK are right- The config "language" makes life much easier than dealing w/ XML. It's already safe for use in files. The key would be to get something akin to the script console, or an API, to both publish the current state as the DSL, and accept the DSL as an input. One of the biggest issues out there is dealing w/ security setup, while still letting the CM system manage the tools. Binding a localhost only API that accepted the DSL commands - particularly partial files - would be a great help. And providing the current config as a DSL description would allow (in Puppet speak) a parser to be written for Jenkins as a package type, or as a resource type & provider. This, plus the Pipeline DSL, makes things much easier. The fact is: This kind of functionality, implemented as either a DSL, or as a series of REST API endpoints, would make life massively easier for setup & provisioning. (The key though is to make it possible to access the API via a different, privileged connection that won't break when you turn on normal security)

 Daniel Beck Maybe it's best to remove this functionality from Winstone. My PR was just to give us some time before removing it completely. The fix I provided won't work with JDK 9, so this might give us a few months(years?) to suggest to avoid using the built-in cert generation and use a valid one before everyone starts using JDK 9 heavily. I could also provide an error on startup suggesting everyone switch to using an outside certificate instead.

 I found this regression on Ubuntu 14, OpenJDK 1.8, Jenkins 2.17. All the wrappers disappeared from all of my job where i used rvm. I tried to roll back Rvm plugin to 0.4, job-dsl to 1.47 and jenkins to 2.16. When nothing helped i installed fresh 2.7.2 and ran DSL there. Same problem, if one of wrappers is RVM - no wrappers are used in the job. Both times i checked the XML, and wrappers were there. If i define RVM in UI - everything is OK.

 Jesse Glick / Andrew Bayer / James Dumay the Global Library is not sandboxed now would it be possible to put this snippet into a global library function and run it? Would currentBuild be available in a global library call? Likewise, plugins are not subject to the sandbox so this might be able to be solved with the "step in pipeline" work that Andrew and KK are looking at.

 Jeff Dafoe Claus Näveke To clarify, the plugins locked by Jenkins, if they exist on your instance, are exactly the following list: https://github.com/jenkinsci/jenkins/blob/b81041c292cc1d2849a95d22381c84e0e1ff26af/core/src/main/java/hudson/ClassicPluginStrategy.java#L413...L427 If (and only if) a plugin is on that list, and exists on your instance, its JPI file is locked?

 Provide the ability to execute liquibase rollbacks from a job. Presumably any configuration needed would match what the liquibase cli provides (by tag, date, count).

 The files seem to be locked by Jenkins. I tried moving windows-slaves.jpi away, but it did not work (because it was in use) until I shut down Jenkins. Looks like Jenkins is locking the file it is trying to update/overwrite

 Hey Orlando Soto I just merged a bunch of code to the main jenkins plugin repo I think your stuff got fixed by the bug fixes i've been working on. Do you want to try the latest build? https://jenkins.ci.cloudbees.com/job/plugins/job/sauce-ondemand-plugin/340/org.jenkins-ci.plugins$sauce-ondemand/ Unless any bugs is found, we should be doing a release sometime next week.

 There is no such method WorkflowRun.getWorkspace. What you are trying to do is simply not permitted. If you wish to run Git commands in a Pipeline build, use the sh step with a Git executable. (There is an RFE open in git-plugin for other options.)
