The aborted state currently looks like a failure (with a subtle icon) but it is not classed as a failure. See the attached design from Brody for how it should look. In Scope: * Header style should be as shown (colour wise at least)* Steps that were aborted should show up as aborted (assuming the step state in the flow node is aborted)* User should be able to re-run an aborted build comments from brody [~brody] correctly identified that the aborted status is inconsistently used.In this task we should resolve:* Is "aborted" a failed state? should it be red?* What is a more appropriate icon?* Can steps be aborted? (might need to tap [~vivek] or [~svanoort] on the shoulder to answer this one). If so, should we be showing the same indicator in the pipeline graph and on the aborted step?

links to GitLab have an issue when getting bigger than 1000. When this happens the link starts to get a thousand separator. Not sure where the code is, but it looks like this in configuration: !screenshot-1.png|thumbnail! I assume these strings should make it easy to track down :) I've also verified that it's functional, and you get an error logged if the signature is wrong.

Thanks. That worked!! What a life saver. The last step was to remove all the bad links for things like lastStable in all my jobs. You can delete the symlink for lastStable and it will just get created again the next time you run the job. No more crashes.

I'm running into the same problem. Have a depot with a large number of files. Honestly I don't think we have any need to reconcile? I've only checked out the files I need and just need to submit what's checked out. Maybe i'm missing something but I feel like this should be an option on whether to do that step.

[JIRA] (JENKINS-38877) Build History by Node doesn't work with Pipeline

Build History by Node doesn't work with Pipeline

Created:
 2016/Oct/10 11:36 PM

Reporter:
 Justin Rainwater

Browse to /computer//builds to see build history. For pipeline this page seems disabled. This is understandable because a single pipeline might span multiple nodes so showing a simple pass/fail list of pipeline jobs for a node might not make sense. However this has made it hard to tell at a glance when a certain node is failing more often than other nodes. I would like to see the build history page for nodes display the pipeline job name and build number and then maybe the stage name and step number or something that is definitely unique to that node. That way we could quickly browse history at the node level to determine if a particular node has problems.

Attached is a screenshot of the stage view rendering weird. The time for the current stage doesn't seem to update either.   Sometimes refreshing the page helps (but not always!).Our jenkinsfile essentially looks like this:{noformat}#!groovynode('linux') {stage("Checkout") {commitTag = checkout...}stage("Build") {parallel (// )}}stage("Docker") {node('docker') {// }}stage("Tests") {parallel (// )}{noformat}_javascript_ console shows this log:{noformat}stageview.js:4557 No "data-stageId" on stage.stageview.js:4557 No "data-stageId" on stage.{noformat} but this doesn't seem to be related to the issue.

Sam Van Oort Yes I think that's what I mean. Most of our stages involve a parallel step so I didn't think to blame that for the lack of updates. I'll update ticket to only include rendering issues.

Keith and Cliff have met and developed a way to do @Extension and @ExtensionPoint for client side _javascript_. This also removes the need to pre-publish npm modules for intra module js library dependencies for plugins.

[JIRA] (JENKINS-23844) Matrix based security should apply to case insensitive user name.

Re: Matrix based security should apply to case insensitive user name.

For us, this is a minor issue that is going to rear its head a number of times. Currently, we have a mix of upper/lower case AD group names. If we set a job to the wrong case, the user can't access it. Whats worse, a user may have access on multiple groups of jobs so if we set the right case on one and not on the other, its sometimes a mystery why it isn't working until we remember this gotcha. It's not a show stopper by any means but it surely is annoying. Luckily, we dont have this issue with the case sensitivity of the user name but we do have this issue with the setting the groups. One area where this can REALLY be a problem is if you are overriding a parent matrix security setting. Its very easy to accidentally lock yourself out of the job if you put in your administrative ad group in the wrong case. Yes, I know you can go and modify the job config to fix the issue but I shouldn't have to get on my server every time I spell my group with 'd' instead of 'D'.

I am also seeing this issue. Environment variables are not being substituted when polling runs. I am using an environment variable for my Branch Specifier in the SCM configuration. I have tried this in many versions of the Git Plugin. Version 3.0 is the latest, but version 2.3.4 is the last known working version that I have found.

After updating from 2.4.2 to 3.0.0 the git configuration is lost in every single job. In fact, I don't even see git as an option in Source Code Management. It's as if it's been disabled or uninstalled. Reverting back to 2.4.2 brought back the selection for git as Source Code Management but every single job's lost it's git configuration by that point after a reboot. I had to resort to restoring from backup.

Re: “Local module directory” not supported for external libraries

I think I'm seeing something slightly different than what you are describing or maybe misinterpreting what you are describing. Definitely no concerns about functionality, and only a (very) small concern about performance ... When a pipeline uses multiple external libraries, it seems to re-use the @libs directory within the workspace on the master and check out the libraries fresh each build, despite no commits to those libraries between builds and despite using the svn update checkout strategy. E.g.,This workspace @libs dir on the master doesn't segregate the libraries into separate subdirectories, and contains only the last library loaded at the end of the build. Because the Local module directory is set to ..

 Directory of c:\Jenkins\workspace\Dev-Snippets\x-pipeline-2@libs

2016-10-10 06:18 .
2016-10-10 06:18 ..
2016-10-05 12:34 src
2016-10-10 06:18 vars
   0 File(s) 0 bytes
   4 Dir(s) 248,796,782,592 bytes free

The build directory does have the libraries segregated into separate subdirectories, which if applied to the workspace above, would allow for checkout optimization.

 Directory of c:\Jenkins\jobs\Dev-Snippets\jobs\x-pipeline-2\builds\183\libs

2016-10-10 06:18 .
2016-10-10 06:18 ..

   0 File(s) 0 bytes
   5 Dir(s) 248,788,549,632 bytes free

 — FWIW this is a dev Jenkins instance on my workstation. Zero executors configured for the master. Since initial report I've updated the core and one of the relevant plugins. LTS 2.19.1 scm-api 1.3 subversion 2.6 worfklow-cps-global-lib 2.4

it fails when a Jenkinsfile "properties" has changed […] and a subsequent run will use the old properties
When properties is run, it changes the properties for the job. In the case of build parameters, these are consulted before the build starts, thus use the parameters defined as of the previous build. This issue is about allowing params to pay attention to the current definition.

as a user I would like to be able to define configuration files on folders - this will allow me to scope the visibility of configuration files to folders.

[JIRA] (JENKINS-33163) Add option "Use Upstream Project revision" similar to that on the legacy perforce plugin

Re: Add option "Use Upstream Project revision" similar to that on the legacy perforce plugin

One workaround is to use parameterized jobs and the following plugin: https://wiki.jenkins-ci.org/display/JENKINS/Parameterized+Trigger+Plugin Create a downstream job with a string parameter 'P4CL' then pin the downstream job at the Perforce label '$ {P4CL}'. When the upstream job calls the downstream job set 'P4CL= ${P4_CHANGELIST)'. In this was the downstream jobs runs with the same changelist number that was used by the upstream job. In testing this also sets 'P4_CHANGELIST' to '${P4CL} '
