Just tested it locally and it seems this only happens if the user has scrolled. Going back to the top of the page the breadcrumb links are clickable. Doing some further research, I discovered the issue. The notification-bar div has opacity 0 but it is still being displayed and, when moved down, that div is located right above the breadcrumb, preventing clicks. I'm working on a fix, to set display to "none" when the alert disappears.

Just FTR, noting here that the linked PR ended up including a color change in the monitor alert, both for the old UI and for the new. The "proposed changelog entries" were modified in the PR accordingly.

I'd agree with Jesse, we don't need to have text at all, just the bell and the number, as is common pattern in many other cases, such as GitHub.[~fqueiruga], are you OK if I assign this to myself as discussed in the UX SIG? I'll be happy to work on that so that I get more familiar with the Jenkins UI and can keep contributing to it. Edit: Just chatted with Félix and he is OK, so I'm assigning it to me

Yesterday and today I have been running some diagnostics on this and following traces, with the following findings: * The pencil in the top navbar is rendered as part of the "RunDetails.jsx" component (in "blueocean-dashboard" plugin) ** The array "iconsButtons" renders a few components (e.g. Replay Button, RunButton, LoginButton,...) ** The Pencil button is a special case, rendered as an extension from the "blueocean-pipeline-editor" module ("PipelineEditorLink.jsx" class) *** However, after assuming that the issue was related to the extenison load, I have come to the conclusion that the extension load is working fine. Not only there have not been changes there, but also I have proved the "PipelineEditorLink" is executed sometimes * After running various experiments, both with the training VM and by running blueocean locally through the sources ("mvn -f blueocean/pom.xml hpi:run") it seems sometimes it runs fine: ** !Screen Shot 2019-07-20 at 13.40.25.png|width=456,height=244,thumbnail! * ** However, there are other times in which the pencil is not displayed *** In some of those cases in which the pencil is not displayed, I have been able to see that the "render" or "_canSavePipeline" methods in the "PipelineEditorLink" class were not being called *** In those cases, I am also seeing an error seeming to come from an API call: !Screen Shot 2019-07-20 at 13.39.52.png|width=470,height=253! Maybe that error is causing the execution to interrupt, not loading the buttons ? Will try to see if I can keep tracing the issue to the API, but it seems a bit challenging.

[JIRA] (JENKINS-57819) Blue Ocean does not show all steps in stage

Re: Blue Ocean does not show all steps in stage

I've been looking at this and it seems that this is a pagination issue. The REST API seems to only be returning 100 elements, even though there are more. Looking at the Pagination classes in the corresponding module of the BlueOcean repo, I see that 100 is indeed the default value for pagination in the API. I first tried to figure out how to obtain the next page for steps, but it seems to me that the "/steps" API operation is missing the pagination implementation, so it is only returning the 100 first elements, as a default config. So this probably needs an API enhancement for that operation to include GET parameters to allow pagination. And then probably a change to the Front-end to add some sort of dynamic loader for steps when you scroll further than the first 100 elements, for instance. That would includes a few changes in the corresponding React components as well, to achieve that behavior
