Prior to update I had the template matrix security unticked but ticked in the jobs implementing the template. I'm guessing that was a bug that needed fixing. So, If I tick the template job's matrix security and apply that to all jobs inheriting it, it does work. I suspect that the child will retain it's own auth matrix property if and only if the parent has one. Added to 1.2.2 was "Bugfix: Removing job property from template should remove from all implementations" That is what the code will think you've done if my hunch is correct. Please confirm.
