Re: CREATING WEB PAGES AND JFW

1999-05-27 Thread Gerald G. Weichbrodt

I use JFW with Microsoft FrontPage 98, and a little customizing has made the
combination work very well indeed. If you want to do basic home page creation,
however, you can get away with creating your pages with something as simple as
Notepad. Making your page speech-friendly is mostly an issue of labeling graphical
images with some meaningful text so that the graphics aren't just blank holes in your
page from a blind user's perspective. That's my opinion on the subject.

Cheers,
Jerry

1999-05-26 Thread David R. Sherman

Hi Mike,

I'm a little green when it comes to HTML and web pages, but my girlfriend
has had a site up for a couple of years and wanted to address your exact
concerns when designing her page.

Check out :
www.w3c.org/markup

and www.hwg.org
[the HTML Writers Guild]

I believe they address the issues of proper web design and accessability.
They stress conforming to the 4.0 standard (whatever that is -- I think
it's the latest internationally adopted standard).

Good luck

Re: CREATING WEB PAGES AND JFW

1999-05-26 Thread Groove Papa

If you're interested in creating web pages. Check out HTML Goodies at:

http://www.htmlgoodies.com

You can learn HTML there, which can be written in notepad. I find that web
pages are easier to create and understand that way. If you would like to
forego learning HTML, I might suggest Front Page express. That seems to
work okay with JFW.

As far as creating accessable web pages. Well, if you are a Jaws user, and
you can read you're page clearly, then you shouldn't have too much trouble.
Just steer clear of frames, and for me, make your links as to-the-point as
possible. Good luck. If you have other questions feel free to mail me.
