Re: 3.3, wp8, reading paragraphs

1999-05-25 Thread BlindAvngr

I just ran a little test with the Read paragraph command, WP8, and Word 8
with both JFW3.2 and JFW3.3. Both JFW apps were updated with the latest
patches.
In Word, the command worked quite well when using JFW3.2, but it was slow as
was mentioned on this list this morning.
With Word Perfect 8, the Control-Down Arrow command behaved as if it were the
Say All command and the Control-Up arrow command acted as if it were the Say
Prior line command. I had forgotten that this is why I had given up using
these commands a long time ago. The commands were very sluggish when JFW3.3
was active.
This should be mentioned to HJ as a small problem. As for me, I will
continue to use JFW3.3 with WP8 thanks to the many fixes HJ made in the new
build.

Hi Sue,

Yes I have experienced this. If I press Cntl-UpArrow the speech goes
silent for a few seconds and I have to press up and down arrow a few times
before i get it back.

Yes. I believe I have the current patch. Unless there has been another
patch in the last 24 hours, I have the current patch.

Thanks.

Stacy.

I use Word 8 and find that when reading by paragraph there is a delay
of up to 15 seconds between the key press and the paragraph being
spoken.

Well, here's what I've decided to do for now. There are some features of
3.3 that I like. There are also glitches. I'm keeping both of them on
board for just such problems with two different shortcut keys.
