The ant task simply executes jmeter on the command line. In fact, you 
should be able to run the ant script with -v and see exactly what 
arguments are being passed. You should also be able to execute the same 
command line manually.

Please tell me why my jmeter test from Ant is very slow.. I using jmeter
2.3.2 with soap/xml Rpc requests. I am setting the jvmargs xms=256m and
xmx=512m, and apache-ant-1.6.5. . All soap calls to server are very very
slow. When I run the same test from the Jmeter UI the response times for
the soap calls is as expected. Please help
