Re: [jug-discussion] JUG Anniversary Celebration

2006-06-19 Thread Rene Stone

Hi all,
From discussions at the meeting and on the list, we'll have the picnic
on Saturday July 15 on Mt. Lemmon starting at 10AM (so we can get a
table). We'll probably eat around 11:30

TR and I went up Mt Lemmon last weekend to check it out. We'll have the
picnic at the Box Elder picnic area. This is the first picnic area you
come to when you get up near Summerhaven. It's about 3 miles before
Summerhaven. There's a bunch in a row there, but this one had a lot of
parking and most importantly, a rest room. There's a $5 fee to go up on
Mt Lemmon or 20$ for a year's pass (per car).

TR changed his mind about doing any grilling, so I think we will go with
all cold food.

And so far, we have:
pasta salad - Warner
water/some drinks - Rene TR
fried chicken - Rene TR
everyone BYO beverages (if you want something besides water or Eegee's)
everyone BYO paper plates/cups/plasticware/fine china/napkins or
whatever you want to eat off of

We still need people to bring the following (please respond on list so
we all know who's bringing what):

chips/dip
salads
side dishes (cole slaw, beans, veggies, etc)
desserts (cookies, brownies, etc)

Hi all,
For the JUG's anniversary celebration, since it's in the middle of the
hot summer, TR and I were thinking that a pot luck picnic would be
fun. Everyone can bring family friends and we can all get outside
for a bit.

We need to figure out when, where and who's bringing what.

Below are some suggestions on all 3. I vote for July 8 or July 15. I
also think our best bets would be one of the Mt. Lemmon picnic areas.
Perhaps someone who knows Mt Lemmon better than I can suggest which
area might be best.

TR and I will bring some water and probably a bucket of Eegee's for
drinks. We'll also bring some hot dogs and buns.
Also, we may need a propane grill, if there are fire restrictions, so
if anyone has one that we can use, that would be great.

Thanks,
Rene

July 8 or 15 would work well for my wife and I. Mt. Lemmon sounds
great. We could bring an avocado/black bean/corn/etc. salad.

As to picnic areas, I sadly haven't spent enough time on Mt. Lemmon
recently to suggest one over another.
