Hi All

I've spent most of the last two days working with Toni from Midonet to
review and test their proposed charms to support deployment of the Midonet
SDN as part of the OpenStack charms.

Alongside reviewing the actual charm code (they are all services framework
integrated with puppet modules for installation and configuration of
midonet binaries) I've been able to deploy these charms with the Juno and
Kilo releases of OpenStack under LXD on my laptop; DHCP and metadata access
for running instances confirmed; north/south traffic routing will be
supported in test by a midonet-gateway charm that Ryo from Midonet is
working on - soon to be put up for review.

We did some re-factoring today to move the provision of the Nova metadata
service into the neutron-agents-metadata charm rather than using the
nova-cloud-controller charm as previously proposed - this boxes in the
components required for instance metadata into this charm nicely in the
same way we have done for the more generalized neutron gateway charm.

The charms need some final polish on lint, unit tests and amulet tests, but
apart from that are ready to go once those last few minor niggles are
resolved!

Cheers

James
