Hello
we're thinking about buying a few QFX5100 as they are incredibly cheap on the
refurbished market - sometimes even cheaper than a much older EX4550.
Are there any caveats when using the QFX5100-48S as a normal aggregation switch
without QFabric? We have a pretty basic setup of Access

we've had very bad experience with Junos 15.1 on our switches (EX4550, EX4300,

Hello Tore
for new deployments you could check out the Digi CM 48.
These device do not need rollover cables, you can use your standard ethernet
cables to connect the router/switch console ports to the Digi CM. They also
come with dual power supplies and you can find them used for 200€ with 48

Hello
I have an EX4300 with a EX-UM-4X4SFP Uplink module (with 4x SFP slots) and a
dual mode SFP Module that supports 1000Base LX and 10GBase LR. When inserted
into the EX4300 the SFP module is always in 10GBase LR mode. Is there any way
to configure any or all of the SFP slots to 1000Base?

Hello Rob,
thanks for sharing, seems like all Junos versions above 17.3R3 are affected.
BTW another entertaining bug affects the LAG load balancer. Ever tried adding
an additional interface to an existing LACP LAG on Junos 18.2? The LAG load
balancer will immediately send traffic through the

is there a list of the RLDRAM sizes of various Juniper line cards to be found

As far as I understand RLDRAM equals (more or less) FIB size which is

Hello
I need to check interfaces for LACP flaps on a QFX5100.
On an EX4550 and EX4300 it is very easy to do that. Every LACP state change
would get logged and the syslog messages would look like this:

power than a 100km ZR SFP+ module? Is there a risk that my line
Just here to tell you that we've had an issue that sounds close to what you saw:

Hi,
I'd like to point out one more thing because I feel that this point hasn't been
stressed enough:
Upgrading Junos might be more time consuming than many people expect it to be.
The reason for this is that quite often, things that previously worked in Junos
will break in a new release. This

is it possible to use a QSA module and get DDM/DOM readings?
Here's a Juniper QFX5100-48T with a QSA adapter. The 10G interface is up and it
is forwarding packets, but there are no DOM/DDM readings:
