Amendment:
I have always been using IMAP and all my emailaccounts expierience the same
effect.

I am expieriencing exactly the same whenever I want to delete a bigger amount
of emails, e.g. deleting the content of the trash folder.
A few emails work fine, but if I select many, K-9 regulary crashes.
I have been expieriencing this from the beginning of using K-9 on, so for
about 9 years.
