Long time user here... I actually sought out the forum to see why the logo was changed.. I also miss K-9! ( The old icon/dog. )
I'm curious what the reason was. The referenced ticket simply states if you don't like it, compile it yourself. I wonder if there was some sort of copyright concern/threat with the BBC... the new logo doesn't really look much like the namesake. While I'm active on some open source projects, I'm not active on K-9 other than as a user. I could (as suggested in the bug report) compile it myself, but I really don't think an icon is worth forking a project over..
