Using Nexus 5X, Oreo 8.1.0, Google Gboard keyboard… Entering a To: address any keys on the lower two keyboard rows pass through the keyboard causing the caret to jump to the body of the mail beneath. Hence pressing @ prematurely completes entry of the address generating an error.
