I found the solution to remove the style problems between KDE and XFCE on my
old Arch Linux system
I simply used:
rm -rf ~/.gtkrc-2.0

There seems to be more to it than just in saving the GIH. "Use color as mask"
is unchecked for the brushes saved in Krita _and_ the default GIH brushes, but
