That sentence would be correct if KDE Connect didn't have a service. Simply
swiping away from Recents shouldn't kill the service, but an explicit exit
should.

It's literally that. Nothing that the panel does that requires displaying over
an existing window works. Be it volume control, network interfaces, application

That doesn't really comfort me because I did have my laptop run out of battery,
failing next boot (needed fsck). I would hate if something similar happened and
my VM or something got corrupted.

Valve is rather unresponsive to issues on their bug tracker. I can't hope it
will be fixed, remains fixed. Plus this issue is not really Steam specific,

Interestingly enough, switching from xorg modesetting driver to xorg radeon
driver tremendously reduced the amount the DE freezes. There are still a few
infrequent and silent freezes but I have no clue how to debug

The error also occurs when the backend is xrender. Though it seems that rapidly
switching between the frozen DE and a TTY it starts to respond again sometimes.
