With Dolphin the menubar is however easily restorable by pressing ctrl+m, only
the user needs to know this shortcut exists and if the shortcut was disabled
before the dolphinrc file has to be edited manually as there is

To be clear, the behavior I'm seeing is that the Shift key inserts characters
into the password field, but not characters that have previously been deleted,
