Yes, I believe that Elisa only stores statistics for files that are indexed.
Since you are dragging and dropping, I'm guessing your songs are not in a

First, autosave and save are different from backup.
Backup is not automatic, but you do get to specify the location.
When you do an explicit save, it is basically the same save as the autosave, so
