If it matters - I just downloaded the Shotcut video editor appimage and it is
running fine. I then again tried Kdenlive and it still fails to run.

FWIW - I just tried Kdenlive on my fedora-40 system again after updating
everything via DNF. Still doesn't work.
Before running Kdenlinve I removed all the following folders/files:
FOLDERS --
/home/jroc/.
