SUMMARY In mageia8, the sidebar in konqueror has been restored. However the
option to populate the sidebar, has no functionality. Bookmarks cannot be added
to the sidebar by any method that I have been able to find. Whilst I find
Konqueror the best file manager that I;ve ever come across, the loss of the
sidebar, has kept me from updating my OS (Mageia Linux) from version 5, the
last version with the sidebar, up until the present with Mageia8. Aside from
the lack of functionality, there is also a problem with permanancy. In
'Settings' ticking a box should make the sidebar open by default, but when
Konquror is closed down, and later re-opened, the sidebar is not restored, and
the tick box in settings is once again empty.I've not used the other options
within the sidebar, so have no idea whether they have problems
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Konqueror
2. open the sidebar
3. establish a bookmark, for a particular URL
4 the bookmark is added to the list, but no entry is made in the sidebar, set
for bookmarks
OBSERVED RESULT No entry of the saved bookmark in the sidebar
EXPECTED RESULT As in the original sidebar (Mageia 5) the bookmark should be
listed in a vertical column within the sidebar
