OK, I will take a look maybe get my first patch in if that sounds reasonable.
The simplest case would be adding support to control-click multiple images I
think.

Interesting, thanks for the link. I don't actually want to have multiple
desktop images like Slideshow, but I wanted to be able to manage them all in
