Apper is not end of life upstream.
Several distributions switched to solutions directly using their package
management stack, e.g., Kubuntu has had Muon for ages, Fedora now has
Dnfdragora.

Also, looking at libapper/PkTransactionWidget.cpp, Apper is not drawing
anything itself, it is just using the widgets and letting Qt draw them without
