In the arch linux repository exiv2 0.25 was already flagged as outdatet. SO I
think it will take not so much time they replace them with 0.26.

Confirmed. A JPEG image parsed by Exiv2 to write metadata in Exif crash
digiKam.
You can easily identify the image as you want to tag people inside. The face
tags are written in Exif and XMP.
