I changed the line InitialView=AllAlbums to IntialView=Albums. Elisa did react
to that: it didn't know so well what to do so it didn't show anything at
startup.
Btw: When it IS InitialView=AllAlbums, than Elisa at startup

I'm betting the key stored in the config file is translated rather than being a
string literal, but it's late and I will check tomorrow.

As a matter of fact: I do! I'm using Elisa in the Dutch language.
I also wiped both ~/.local/share/elisa and ~/.config/elisarc and tried again
after that but it remained the same.
