Bug ID: 414784 Summary: Major display issues with KDE (can't open apps after suspend) Product: kde Version: unspecified Platform: openSUSE RPMs OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: unassigned-b...@kde.org Reporter: damien.lloy...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY On my Dell XPS 13 7390 (2019 edition), there seems to be an inate problem that doesn't occur with any other desktop environment and seems to have spread through recent KDE releases onto other platforms, including Manjaro and openSUSE. My previous XPS 13 of an earlier edition never had this sort of problem, but I'll list what I've seen so far: A. On Manjaro Linux, the panel is completely distorted and doesn't allow me to click on an icon properly. By that, I mean when I click on a panel icon, it displays the status of the one a few grids to the left. It seems like the panel is not in sync. B. Not to mention the fact I can't even open a window, like the settings manager properly either! It doesn't even display the options. C. The background flickers between black and an image. Not pleasant to see! Anyway, on openSUSE Tumbleweed there's a different set of issues that might relate to the suspend. Suppose you wake your laptop up from such a state and then find you cannot open programs, nor even see your previous session. Not even the shutdown/reboot options work; you have to force shutdown the laptop and upon logging in from hence does the session then reveal yourself. I'm not sure how to reproduce these issues on your machines but if you got any cues as to what all this might ultimately relate to then let's start discussing!
