I still believe that this is caused by running KMyMoney 4.8 on a KF5 based
environment without the KDE4 tools installed.

I found also this folder in my /home/ :
/.kde4/share/apps/kmymoney/ which contains kmymoneyui.rc but nothing in it
about date format.
