Ctrl-Q works fine on my desktop machines too, so the only problem is with my
laptop for some reason.

Found a suggestion via google search: ctrl-alt-Q works! Not sure what is going
on as ctrl-Q works on xterm.

Can you double-check in another terminal like xterm? Have you changed anything
in profile->keyboard->keybindings?

It shows correct ^S and ^Q. ^S works and gives the message to use ctrl-Q to go
back but doing so has no effect. This is on a Lenovo laptop
