I never noticed the per plugin settings although I've been using KRDC for many
years - it's a bit hidden.
It would be really convenient to have a button in the new/configure host
dialog: "Set as Default for RDP"

You can configure a default for any new connection per protocol in KRDC
settings. Does that help?
