The selection tools simply don't work. All selection tools outlines disappears.
Trying to use Control T just makes the selection invisible. The selection can
be change (rotated etc.) in this state, but it's not seeable. Only by clicking
off then on the layer can the transformed image to be seen. Trying to
manipulate the image again causes it to disappear again.
