Hm, that makes it sound like it's not the window manager, but some combination
of hardware, drivers and krita. Which makes it even harder, because I don't
have access to the hardware :-(

I decided to try intalling awesome and sure enough it showed up in the login
screen. I tried using the touch screen to paint again and the freeze does

Mint xfce comes with compiz installed in addition to xfce's window manager and
I do not see any option to switch to window managers

Also. I do have enable touch painting checked on in the settings and this also
happens in krita 4.10
