Bug ID: 409549 Summary: With the smart placement policy, window size grows every time I open an application Product: kwin Version: 5.16.2 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: wayland-generic Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: b...@ubhofmann.de Target Milestone: --- I use KDE plasma in Wayland mode (kwin is the Wayland compositor) on Gentoo Linux. I use - kde-plasma 5.16.2 - kde-frameworks 5.59.0 - kde-apps 19.04.2 I start konsole (or kate or any other program) and resize the window so that there's some space between the konsole window and the KDE task bar at the bottom of my screen. I close konsole with File / Close window. I restart konsole and the window is bigger than before. Every time I start konsole, the window grows bigger and bigger. After I opened konsole 3 or 4 times, the Konsole window is so large, that its tab bar at the bottom is hidden behind the KDE taskbar at the bottom of my screen. That's annoying. Reproducible: Always SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS - Gentoo Linux: default/linux/amd64/17.1/no-multilib - Linux Kernel: 4.19.50 - GCC: 8.3.0 - KDE Plasma Version: 5.16.2 - KDE Frameworks Version: 5.59.0 - KDE Apps: 19.04.2 - Qt Version: 5.12.3 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
