Yeah, I guess it might be plasmashell in that case.
When it happens, my taskbar (panel) dies, background turns black on all
monitors, and I have to run my panel restart script to get everything back.

Hmm, that's a crash report about plasmashell, not KWin. Are you sure KWin
crashed? Or was it a Plasma crash?
Either way, it's a bit garbled, but here seems to be the problem in that crash

I didn't got a gdb prompt in the end. I got the error "Failed to invoke gdb: No
such file or directory".
