Moving the config worked a treat. Seems its regenerated and windows are
appearing as normal.
Will miss Bismuth tiling, hopefully the depends issue with the 20.04 base
will get sorted n

If I create a new user, login with that user (to see if its my user setting
causing issues) cycles the ssdm loginscreen

Can you attach kwin logs after step 3 too? Use `journalctl --user-unit
plasma-kwin_x11` or `journalctl --user-unit plasma-kwin_wayland` to get kwin's
logs

Not a script, but I did use kwin-bismuth, but uninstalled that to rule it out.
I wonder if the windows are trying to tile / kwin is trying to use bismuth
decoration even though bismuth is not installed anymore?
