Just updated to 5.20.1 and now I got the new OSD. I guess breeze in manjaro was
messed up. It's working fine now even with the arc-kde theme.

Then you're either not using the Breeze Plasma theme, or you're not using
Plasma 5.20, because the Breeze Plasma theme OSD is small and rectangular in
5.20. :) Either way, this is fixed in Plasma 5.20 with the Breeze

What does it look like in the Breeze theme? Is the OSD still big and square? Or
is it small and rectangular?

maybe it's something related to manjaro or my own instalattion, but plasma was
working fine for me in 5.19.
