Mockup of observed result
SUMMARY
When initially opening the menu, the bottom portion with Applications, Places,
Sleep, Restart, Shutdown, and Leave... items renders black for about half a
second. The rest of the menu is not affected. I was not able to screen capture
this happening so I have attached a mock up using an edited screenshot of the
normal behavior.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Click the icon to open the menu
OBSERVED RESULT
A black "flash" near the bottom of the menu
