            Bug ID: 470134
Summary: Emoji Selector could be useful for selecting latex
                    symbols
    Classification: Plasma
           Product: plasmashell
           Version: master
          Platform: Other
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Emoji Selector
          Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
          Reporter: aleksey.kla...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: 1.0

In addition to emojies, I often want to copy-paste math symbols (\cap, \cup,
\infty, etc). Emoji Selector would be a perfect UI for me to do that. To not
clutter the emoji list itself, latex symbols can be suggested only when the
query string starts with `\`.

I think I can use `kcharselect` for a similar purpose, but this solution has
the following shortcomings:

- i'd need separate shortcuts for "launch emojier" and "launch kcharselect",
although I think about both as "I want some unicode symbol"
- kcharselect UI is clunky
- kcharselect doesn't actually support latex aliases

I guess this wish can be split into two:

- extend emojier into general "pick unicode symbols by names" functionality
- add latex aliases for math symbols
