Evidence

The installer does not recognize compressed packages other than ".tar.gz". and
even if your theme is compressed as such the "Install GTK Theme" stays gray
out.

I can decompress the file into "~/.themes" and they will show as GTK2/3 themes,
s well as install them from api.kde-look.org.

To reproduce:
Head to systemsettings>application style> GTK style.
Click "get new themes" and select "install local theme"
On box select your compress theme (.tar.gz).
