After being able to consistently recreate this issue I had a closer look. It
would crash at exactly 31% of searching for new items every time. I then had a
much closer look at all of the 51000 files in my pictures. I discovered that
inside that folder were several hundred video files in several formats. I took
all of those out and no more crash. I suspect that one or more video files may
be corrupted and perhaps was causing this problem. It works fine now.

One issue that I currently know about is: if the widget is loaded and there is
no network connection at that point, the widget will be blank. And if the
network connection is established, that sadly does not trigger an immediate
pull of the data. Only at the next data update intervall the data will be
fetched then. (Good news here, I have a patch prepared which seems to properly
trigger an immediate update now).
Still, all the settings of the widget should still be present. Can you please
check in the settings dialog of the widget both in the pages "Weather Station"
and "Units" if the values are the same that you set before the reboot? The
values for "Location", "Update every:", and the units?
So "It is lost" refers to data displayed in the widget itself, or also in the
settings of the widget?

This was happening to me for quite a while on my old system, starting with at
least KDE 4.12. On my new system, I installed KDE/Plasma 5 and the problem went
away for a while.

...then I manually changed the font DPI from 96 to 100. Underscores no longer
show up in KWrite with DejaVu Sans Mono 10pt.

System: KDE Frameworks 5.25 with Plasma Desktop 5.7.3
Underscores do not show up in KWrite or Kate when using the DejaVu Sans Mono
10pt font at 100dpi, but they do show up in Qt Designer (both 4 and 5).

Adds 'Assistant Tool' to a different group to circumvent misalignment (hack)

(Figuring out how the ToolBox rendering works for a whole day, just to see you
giving an answer a few hours earlier.. :O  )

It's just as Boudewijn said, the layout code works as intended.
A possible solution could be that every tool type needs to start on a 'new
line'
or we need more TOOL_TYPE_VIEW tools, so that it won't misalign with common
toolbox dimensions.
Or resize the toolbox in a way that the 'Assistant Tool' gets pushed on its own
row yourself,
what would be the easiest solution, I guess..

But, if it is really bothering you, you can recompile krita with this little
hack.
(It prevents the top/left seperators being drawn by adding 'Assistant Tool' to
the group TOOL_TYPE_FILL that is next to it.)

Reading about appstream I found that the current stable version for Xenial is
appstream_0.9.4-1ubuntu1

But KDE Neon is installing the version 0.9.7-1+16.04+build1 that I think is for
Yakkety and is outdated I found the link to this version here:
http://archive.neon.kde.org/dev/stable/pool/main/a/appstream/

The current appstream version for Yakkety is 0.9.8-4

I found a workaround to temporary solve the problem:

Well, my use case is to have some taskmanagers with different launchers on each
activity. ( kinda simulating various docks like plank and docky for each
activity ).

It would be handy for that. Also althought there is the configuration of
taskmanager for middle click action to minimize/restore, I would love to keep
middle mouse for "new instance" and double clicking for minimize/restore.

The extra konsole window has already been reported as bug#367447.

The window placement and cd paths on session restoration seem to work fine here
(I don't leave 6 konsole windows open though), but that extra window does
interfere/break it, as it basically is a "duplicate" of another window.

Upon using (Super+Tab) to open the activities menu, clicking the settings
button on the current activity will open a settings dialog, in which if I
release the Super key without closing the dialog, it causes a segfault in
Plasma, causing it to crash and restart.

1. Press key combination (Super[windows key, on a common keyboard] + Tab), hold
down Super
2. Hover your cursor over an activity that is displayed, a settings button
should appear
3. Click the Settings button, which will open a settings dialog.
4. Release the super key _without_ closing the dialog via "OK", "Cancel", etc.

Actual Results:  
Segmentation fault in Plasma, causing it to crash

Digital Clock issue - Time zone names, for selected city or country is not

I am running Kubuntu 16.04 with Neon on top.  KMail is working great except for
a problem similar to the OP's.   On the last email in the input box message
list, when I drag the msg title to a folder, or delete it, the message body is
cleared but the message title in the message list is not.  I have to click on
another folder and then click again on the input box to clear it.  No
information is changed or lost, unless I deleted it.  It is as if the msg title
of the msg was a ghost.

Konsole never had a -c option AFAICT.

In your example, -c is actually an option for bash.

Konsole 16.08 (using QCommandLineParser) incorrectly treats it as an (unknown)
option for konsole now though, instead of ignoring the arguments after -e and
passing them to the command that is to be run (bash).

See bug#366793.

--nofork has indeed been "removed" in 16.08.
I have no idea whether this is on purpose or by mistake, nor whether --nofork
even still makes sense with KF5/Qt5.
What I can say though is that this is also related to the switch to
QCommandLineParser. The --nofork option was not konsole specific, but provided
by kdelibs4's KCmdLineArgs.

I use sketch_line a LOT, have it set to my favorite presets. Randomly, this
preset will vanish from the program entirely on startup-- leaves a blank spot
on right-click palette, nothing under "all presets". Usually returns after a
couple restarts. 

Also unable to edit my favorite presets (has nothing to do with tags, it's to
do with the "select favorite presets" option under the "tools" menu). After
sketch_line vanished, accidentally set sketch in its place, and now sketch_line
is back I'm unable to remove a preset from my favorites and replace it with
that. 

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Krita doc. 
2. Select Tools menu.
3. Select "Select favorite presets..."
4. Add sketch_line and 7 other presets to favorites (doesn't seem to matter
which, I also have sketch_chrome and sketch_ink_big and have no issues with
those.) 
5. Doodle, save, close doc. 
6. Open and edit doc(s) until sketch_line ceases to exist. Very random,
sometimes it vanishes every other day, sometimes a month will go by. 
7. Accidentally stick sketch preset in sketch_line's place
8. Sketch_line reappears after a few restarts
9. Try and fail to remove sketch from favorite presets via Tools/Select
favorite presets...

Actual Results:  
"Remove Preset" button greyed out in Select favorite presets... dialogue. Tried
selecting sketch_line in Add Preset, tried adding it, tried removing any of the
other presets, no responses, not even error messages. 

Expected Results:  
Removed sketch preset and replaced it with sketch_line, and also not forgotten
a preset for no particular reason.

The problem is real. Vertical panels tend to be given greater width than
horizontal ones are given height, because widgets like e.g. the clock don't
work in a very narrow panel.
With these widths, the launcher does waste a lot of height (and looks strange).
It would therefore make sense to define a maximum size after which it would
just receive horizontal padding (as illustrated by Xapient)

Right click to "add to favorites" the Display Configuration - KDE Control
Module from menu creates the favorite icon. 
Properties of this icon, kcm_kscreen.desktop, are general:kcm_kscreen. 
Attempt to execute results in:

"Unable to run the command specified. The file or folder kcm_kscreen.desktop
does not exist."
Help icon for Display Configuration is grey out. 

Display Configuration does launch correctly, just not from favorites or "add to
desktop"

1. Click K menu, type "display", right click "Display Configuration" and select

2. from K menu launch favorite "Display Configuration"

dual heads: primary 27" landscape secondary 20" portrait (left of primary)

I'm using  6 konsole windows on 1 desktop, on the primary (27") screen, in 2
rows of 3 windows.

When restoring session, say at boot up time, I get an extra konsole (center up
against top edge)  on the other screen, that is the 20" portrait on the left of
the primary display.
Everything I type in this window is mirrored inside one of the 6 other windows.
If I type in that window (where the mirroring happened), it will in turn be
mirrored in the extra window.

The 6 windows are not restored in the same order they were right  before the
session got terminated.
The concept of what I call "order" is tied to the fact that konsoles can
remember the current path for their shell.

So if I terminate the session with:
[ k1 - path1 ] [ k2 - path2 ] [ k3 - path3 ]
[ k4 - path4 ] [ k5 - path5 ] [ k6 - path6 ]

I might obtain the following session restored:
[ k1 - path5 ] [ k2 - path2 ] [ k3 - path4 ]
[ k4 - path6 ] [ k5 - path3 ] [ k6 - path1 ]
and an extra "mirrored" window

Sometimes (though more rarely) I get only a few konsoles restored (again not
respecting the original "order")
An extra konsole (still "mirrored") on the left screen
The remaining konsoles are restored in other desktop, following the kwin window
creation rule, in my case centered.

Workaround:
none that I can think of with konsole
so I end up using xterm with some real ugly bachrc stuff to keep track of
current path.

1.create 2 rows of 3 konsoles
2.execute "cd /some/where" in each of them
3.reboot
4.log in again

Actual Results:  
one extra window - in my case on the other screen" - that will mirror one of
the restored konsoles
konsole windows restored don't have the same current path as the ones before
reboot, with respect to their actual position
sometimes a few of the restored konsole are stacked in another desktop 

Expected Results:  
same number of konsoles
restore them in the same position, i.e. for a given position, the shell current
path must remain the same.

There is an example of code:

I rename declaration of sFileName to sFileName2, so now first line looks like
this:

All occurrences for not declared variable  are underlined. OK. I move cursor
over declaration and I get: Solution (1): Rename "sFileName" to "sFileName2".
But wait. In this place variable is already renamed :/. OK. Nevermind. I click
"Solution (1)" and all occurrences are renamed. Great. This is what I wanted.
I undo all changes, and again rename declaration in the same way. Now I move
cursor over first usage. This is mentioned line:
 if (! sFileName.isEmpty()) 
I get the same tool tip, so again I click in "Solution (1)". After that only
occurrence under cursor is renamed. This is happen on every next usages of
variable. Why?
I'm not sure, but I think it was working before change with tool tip: "Problem
in semantic analysis". I mean all occurrences were always renamed.


Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Rename declaration of local variable
2. Try to use "Semantic analysis helper" for any usage of variable not for
declaration
3. Click "Solution (1)"

Actual Results:  
Only occurrence under cursor is renamed

Expected Results:  
All occurrences for selected variable should be renamed.
Thanks that kdevelop will avoid forcing an user to go back to declaration and
again back to current code.

An application can use the Unity API to provide a badge, unfortunately I don't
see any application do that right now, not even Thunderbird (uses AppIndicator
instead?). Since there's currently no KDE API (neither Unity API wrapper nor
Window Metadata Framework) there probably won't be any widespread adoption for
this in the mid term, at least for KDE Applications.

In any case, this would be the application's responsibility to properly
propagate and nothing that will automatically just work.

(The reason copy jobs in Dolphin do work is that I hooked it to the
jobviewserver so that any KJob with progress UI will also be indicated at the
originating application, if possible)

Wrong.
It does not try to connect to anywhere at all.

It fails to run konsole (because of a regression in konsole 16.08.0) and then
endlessly waits for konsole closing.

See also bug#366792

Will be workarounded with the next plasma5-workspace update in Tumbleweed.
You can fix it yourself by downgrading konsole to 16.04.3 or before (which
didn't have this problem), or change /usr/bin/installdbgsymbols.sh to use xterm
instead of konsole.

Or you could also install Plasma from the KDE:Frameworks5 repo which already
has this change.

That's because the window loses its "IsActive" status as the desktop gains
focus due to the mouse button press, unlike a panel which never grabs focus.
Since the initial click on a task in a panel usually gives it focus, the
minimize toggle codepath is only run when the window is active, and otherwise
the activate codepath runs (both on mouse button release, i.e. completed
click). Not quite sure what to do about this one yet.

Drop the C++ text label implementation.

Summary:
After D2281 set the stage, this change drops the C++ label in favor
of the PlasmaComponents-based label added then. A consensus has
emerged that the things the C++ label did that the new label does
not do (fadeout gradients, shadowing) are not actually desirable.

This is due to a Qt Quick bug: Item hover state is not updated when an item
comes under the cursor by movement or instanciation, only in response to mouse
events.

Wegwerf, I can confirm that the green/red preview render bar is not updating
properly when I make changes to (a) the properties of FX on a clip in the
timeline, or (b) the location of a clip in the timeline. Changing these doesn't
always cause the Preview Render to reflect that changes have been made and a
new cache needs to be rendered.

The question is, the volume id has changed after the restart? If so, check your
Linux system. As a workaround, you can select a network connection in digiKam
for your folders. DigiKam then only checks whether the path exists.

Hi,

I am using openSUSE git/unstable branch, which track kde plasma git.

When using that desktop, pressing and releasing the modifier meta key ( also
known by superkey ), the plasma launcher opens. I have window management key
set to Meta ( where default is ALT ). 

When i move a window with the meta key + mouse, the plasma launcher also opens.

Reproducible: Always



Expected Results:  
The meta key to now open the launcher if another key or mouse is used ( similar
to how ksuperkey used to work ).

Although it's been less than 48 hours, over 25 members of the Kdenlive G+
community voted on a poll that made for this, and, so far, 69% are for the
straight-edges and corners rather than rounded.

Today I scratched all Kmail2 and Akonadi config and data files in $HOME/.config
and $HOME/.local/share - to no avail. The process keeps running after closing
the kmail2 GUI. I haven't seen any Email losses for a while now. So the email
losses I saw earlier seem to be unrelated to this bug.
I made one observation though - I have ticked the option to scratch emails in
trash when closing. The emails are *not* discarded. Means the process hangs
somewhere before erasing trash mails.
