Bug ID: 383474
Summary: Add regular window's features into QML Virtual
Keyboard
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: master
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: generic-wayland
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org

  Target Milestone: 1.0

Add ability to drag virtual keyboard, change it's size, ability to pin it - so
keyboard don't hides after text field focus lost.

Virtual Keyboard overlaps 'Networks' tray WiFi password prompt popup if Panel
is located at the bottom of the screen. Similar overlapping is also happens for
app menu when start typing/searching in app menu. If there will be a
possibility to change keyboard size and position - a lot of UX problems can be
neutralized.

Martin is right. We don't have the resources to help you debug the issue, so
this bug report would just languish forever; a larger user community is
probably going to be better able to help you debug this than the developers.
Could be hardware related, configuration related, etc. There could be a real
bug somewhere in the mix. If the result of that discussion susses out a
reproducible bug, please feel free to file a new bug report on that!

[dolphin] [Bug 383472] New: Default open action for ISO files should mount it, not attempt to open it with Ark

2017-08-13 Thread Nate Graham
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=383472

Bug ID: 383472
Summary: Default open action for ISO files should mount it, not
attempt to open it with Ark
   Product: dolphin
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: pointedst...@zoho.com
CC: elvis.angelac...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Right now, opening an ISO in Dolphin results in it being passed off to Ark,
which cannot mount the ISO--it can only display and offer to extract its
contents, which is almost never what's expected or wanted for an ISO. Instead,
the user probably wants to mount the ISO.

There are supposedly Dolphin servicemenu add-ons that will accomplish this, but
there are two problems with this approach:
1. None of them work for me; they don't even show up once installed
2. Even if they did work, they're 3rd-party software that 99.9% of users will
never know about
3. This is basic functionality (macOS finder, Windows Explorer, and GNOME
Nautilus can all mount ISOs natively). Iyt seems silly for it to only be
supported via 3rd party code.

There are a lot of requests for built-in ISO mounting support in Dolphin:
- https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=175051
- https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=187880
- https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=337746

I think it's time to implement it natively. Not having this piece of basic
functionality built in frustrates users and degrades Dolphin's user experience.

[plasmashell] [Bug 383471] New: Removing the default panel on a clean install causes dbus to not receive a reply on screen lock

2017-08-13 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=383471

Bug ID: 383471
Summary: Removing the default panel on a clean install causes
dbus to not receive a reply on screen lock
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: master
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Panel
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: witheredwi...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: 1.0

When removing the default panel launching the screensaver and some dialog
boxes, specifially in the systems settings menus, will not receive a reply from
dbus.

dbus.exceptions.DBusException: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Did not
receive a reply.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Follow the basic arch install guide with pacstrap of base and create a new
user.
2. Install plasma, a desktop manager, and appropriate drivers (tested with
nouveau and nvidia proprietary drivers separately)
Tested with SDDM and plasma, SDDM and plasma-desktop, SDDM and plasma-meta,
LXDM and plasma, LXDM and plasma-meta, GDM and plasma, GDM and plasma-meta on
two different systems with the same behavior.
3. reboot
4a. systemctl start sddm.service
OR
4b. systemctl start gdm.service
OR
4c. systemctl start lxdm.service
and login with plasma
5a. ctrl+alt+L
OR
5b. qdbus org.freedesktop.ScreenSaver /ScreenSaver Lock

At this point every is working as expected.

6. Unlock the screen
7. Delete the default panel.
8. Reboot

This is the point when the errors start.

9. Attemp either 5a or 5b
5b will print the error kicked back by dbus.

Various dialog boxes will also hang, such as confirmation of removing icons
from the desktop.

uname -a
Linux workshop 4.12.6-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Sat Aug 12 09:16:22 CEST 2017

plasma-pa 5.10.4-1
plasma-sdk 5.10.4-1
plasma-workspace 5.10.4-2
plasma-workspace-wallpapers 5.10.4-1

Deleting the home folder settings to restore the plasma desktop to default
settings with the panel does stop the problem from happening, but with the
panel still there. The problem started a bit over a month ago for me. Before
discovering removing the panel was what was triggering the problem, I installed
on another disk, downgraded systemd and the kernel to before I started seeing
the errors, tried other DM/DE/driver combinations, and installed on an entirely
separate system. Having the default panel there seems to be loading something
that isn't loaded when the panel is removed, but I haven't been able to figure
out what it is.

[kdevelop] [Bug 381506] Clicking into ":0:15:" in "Build view" opens empty file

2017-08-13 Thread Christos Gourdoupis
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=381506

Ok it's all clear now. Kdevelop simply parses the output from make and gcc to
get the path to the source file. I used autotools and `make
--no-print-directory` which deprived the parser of sufficient info as make
descented into the subdirectories. I have found workarounds so I rest my case.
But Piotr uses cmake which seem to produce full absolute paths.

[Here is comment about ad-hoc fixing this bug for particular system, you can
safely skip it]

I just made very simple patch based on
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=256561#c21 . Here is my patch:
https://zerobin.net/?0847ca5b9dec86f7#VxKX5KW7TUFqSD/yRddFQ8xitE3N2mP3yT37IrvA2bM=
. It is obviously wrong (it doesn't handle "Shift" and pixel-based scrolling)
and bad (hard-coded numeric constants).

The patch prepared by editing current "master", i. e.
9ef9669733138b46019882fc535d9fa5097a1d29, but I didn't test whether "master"
with my patch really builds. I tested the patch by applying it to debian source
package ktexteditor 5.28.0-2. And patch fixes the bug. Tested on debian stretch
amd64.

Of course, don't pick the patch to upstream, it is just for people who want to
patch their local kate

problem is very simple actually, the path of the documentation is wrong, it has
two forward slashes after pt-BR. Is there any way to specify the documentation
path manually?

[okular] [Bug 383396] Okular doesn't remember window size

2017-08-13 Thread HD
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=383396

Hi again,

I've tried it on another computer also running debian stable and there size and
position remembering works, so I agree, you can close this bug. Sorry I took
your time and thanks for the helpful answers!

I still don't know why it doesn't work on my other alledgedly identical debian
stable install. Okular seems the only program not remembering its position or
size, and completely purging it doesn't help. Probably some old kde config
still left over from previous versions...

Anyways, thanks again.

[Breeze] [Bug 383431] Color themes wrongly applied to non-qt applications (video demo inside)

2017-08-13 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=383431

It has been known for a while that recent versions of GTK can no longer handle
whatever 'Apply colors to non-Qt applications' is injecting. Only Oxygen-GTK on
GTK2 can utilize this ever since theme engine support was removed from GTK3, so
it's technically a configuration and/or GTK bug. That is to say, we as theme
authors can do nothing about this.

We have been working intermittently on a script to dynamically regenerate the
theme according to color schemes, so when that is available, the color scheme
dialog should check for either Breeze-GTK or Oxygen-GTK and trigger that script
when Breeze is selected.

In fact, it would probably be best to work some of this in before the completed
scripts are in master. That is, the dialog should only apply the traditional
setting when:

1. 'Apply colors to non-Qt applications' is checked.
2. Oxygen-GTK, QtCurve, or any other capable GTK theme is selected.

While I would love it if we could fix this bug solely in the GTK theme, any
permanent fix would rely on several moving parts. As such, this issue should be
moved elsewhere in the long run.

Git commit d076c5b64a1d2949d1bc3938e58c7d3fda0f6d64 by Mauro Carvalho Chehab.
Committed on 13/08/2017 at 20:50.
Pushed by mauroc into branch 'master'.

dvb: add a tristate to allow set higher/normal LNBf voltage

Some DVB devices have an optional ioctl that allows changing
between normal voltage for LNBf (13V/18V) to a higher voltage
mode (usually, 14V/19V), meant to compensate for voltage loss
on long cabling. Without that, it is not possible to properly
switch the polarization.

Add a tristate check box to allow enabling/disabling this via
ioctl.

If you have the same issue in Cloudmakers, it's almost certainly a problem with
your equipment, and not either piece of software. I'd wait to see what the
company says. I'm marking this as RESOLVED INVALID, which just means that it's
not our bug.

Actually, no. This ioctl is defined only for a few devices. It switches from
"normal" voltage mode (13V/18V) to a "higher" voltage mode, that adds 1V, in
order to compensate for cable loss (e. g. 14V/19V). Very few DVB devices
implements it. That's why I missed on the first time I looked into it.

I just added a new configuration option to DVB-S/S2 that will allow enabling
this ioctl at Kaffeine. On tri-state mode, it won't use the ioctl at all, just
like before. That prevents a lot at libdvbv5 that would otherwise happen if
called and the device doesn't support it:

13-08-17 18:07:58.265 [Critical] kaffeine.dev: FE_ENABLE_HIGH_LNB_VOLTAGE:
Operation not supported

Checking the box will enable the higher voltage mode; unchecking the normal
mode.

In any case, the previous Kernel patch that detects current overflow sounds a
good idea, so I'm pushing it to the Kernel tree.

toolbar. It's pretty annoying, cause I need to quit the fullscreen mode and
come back to move it back.

Thanks

[kwin] [Bug 383465] New: 25 second delays for apps in Plasma 5

2017-08-13 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=383465

Bug ID: 383465
Summary: 25 second delays for apps in Plasma 5
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.10.4
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: thestarvingonegam...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Warning: it might be either kwin or overall plasmashell problem, or even
something else. I don't have the knowledge to say for sure.
Also the problems started since one of previous updates, today cannot say which
exactly as I was waiting for it to be fixed as one of apparent problems when
using the system. Possible it's a problem of upgrading from 5.9 to 5.10

Also I set severity to major as that bug is really annoying in everyday usage
of the system - a big flaw on user experience and performance.

Problem appears when using apps like Spotify (the worst case), Telegram,
Dolphin, Krita and possibly many more I haven't ever noticed or used.

Spotify case: after a new song is played either automaticly or by the user, app
does not response for a period of 25 seconds, allowing more or less actions.
Scrolling through music playlists is usually possible, but no way to change the
song playing, stop it... You need to wait these 25 seconds. In that time the
album cover doesn't refresh either.
Happens all the time till the end of undescribed period, probably long hours of
the system running, it disappears discarding other problems as well

Telegram case: entering settings runs partially animation of the button, then
freezes (I don't know exact time here, but it is most likely related to Spotify
case, so to this bug. It is around 20 seconds for sure, expect 25)
Happens just one time after running the system.

Doplhin & Krita case: Any kind of confirmation windows should probably be
included here: mostly file deletion is my case. The window doesn't even fully
render before the freeze passes - visible are just decorations and possibly
some kind of a shadow..?

Discover case: cannot make it a firm example, because it was having problems
since I've started using Plasma. Still: possible a freeze after updating system
visible when trying to close the app might be the same thing as above.

I might also mention I have created another user account once in the past.
Weirdly the other user account doesn't show any signs of the problems listed
above. This makes me suspect it is kind of corruption which appears after some
time of using one account for some time. And again: it's just my guess - a
possible hint.

Another possible hint: after one of updates (cannot say what was updated that
time, it was a list of packages, not an update of Plasma though) the problem
disappeared for one run of the system. And it came back.
I own a flawed WD hard drive which started delaying my downloads and making
Spotify go silent, so I disconnected it from my computer. In effect after
running system the delay decreased to 5 seconds, but it didn't last for long,
probably matter of 10 minutes and everything is back to "normal" - 25 seconds.

Done :D

after crashing 3 times when I open the the picture on krita at start and
pen pressure not working . in the 4 th time I open krita every thing work
fine pressure sensitive , opening the picture and the gmic ok and apply
button. may be it could be as boud say previously antivirus issues because
I notice that avg after new update make hang on the new running program to
check it . I also attach the reports for those crashes if you will
recommend any settings with antivirus or any thing else.

Thanks for your super support in this problem specially and in krita
project at all.

Hi,
Thanks for posting the suggestion, it is a valid point.

I have code here that adds the requested feature, but (and this is why I re-add
kwin in cc):

1/ for buttons on the left, it does not work, never did it seems, because there
seems to be a "dead" one pixel on the side. (also true with plastique, and any
decoration I have tested)

2/ for buttons on the right, it works, except that if you put the cursor in the
top right corner, although the button appears hovered (and react as it should
on press), the mouse cursor is still changed to the "diagonal" one, indicating
that you could "resize" the window (which you cant)
As far as I know, which cursor is drawn in which location is handled by kwin
(or kdecoration2), not by the decoration itself, so I have no control over
this. Martin: can you have a look ?

If that helps I can commit the code I have written, even if imperfect.

Best,

Hugo

In short, cmake only generating "Makefile", so finally, it is still run make
