Instead, the user probably wants to mount the ISO. There are supposedly Dolphin servicemenu add-ons that will accomplish this, but there are two problems with this approach: 1. None of them work for me; they don't even show up once installed 2. Even if they did work, they're 3rd-party software that 99.9% of users will never know about 3. This is basic functionality (macOS finder, Windows Explorer, and GNOME Nautilus can all mount ISOs natively). Iyt seems silly for it to only be supported via 3rd party code. There are a lot of requests for built-in ISO mounting support in Dolphin: - https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=159478 - https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=175051 - https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=187880 - https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=337746 I think it's time to implement it natively. [Breeze] [Bug 383431] Color themes wrongly applied to non-qt applications (video demo inside)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=383431 --- Comment #4 from scionicspec...@gmail.com --- It has been known for a while that recent versions of GTK can no longer handle whatever 'Apply colors to non-Qt applications' is injecting. Only Oxygen-GTK on GTK2 can utilize this ever since theme engine support was removed from GTK3, so it's technically a configuration and/or GTK bug. That is to say, we as theme authors can do nothing about this. We have been working intermittently on a script to dynamically regenerate the theme according to color schemes, so when that is available, the color scheme dialog should check for either Breeze-GTK or Oxygen-GTK and trigger that script when Breeze is selected. In fact, it would probably be best to work some of this in before the completed scripts are in master. That is, the dialog should only apply the traditional setting when: 1. 'Apply colors to non-Qt applications' is checked. 2. Oxygen-GTK, QtCurve, or any other capable GTK theme is selected. While I would love it if we could fix this bug solely in the GTK theme, any permanent fix would rely on several moving parts. As such, this issue should be moved elsewhere in the long run. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kaffeine] [Bug 374693] kaffeine does not tune into some dvb-s channels
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374693 Mauro Carvalho Chehabchanged: What|Removed |Added Resolution|--- |FIXED Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED --- Comment #36 from Mauro Carvalho Chehab --- Git commit d076c5b64a1d2949d1bc3938e58c7d3fda0f6d64 by Mauro Carvalho Chehab. Committed on 13/08/2017 at 20:50. Pushed by mauroc into branch 'master'. dvb: add a tristate to allow set higher/normal LNBf voltage Some DVB devices have an optional ioctl that allows changing between normal voltage for LNBf (13V/18V) to a higher voltage mode (usually, 14V/19V), meant to compensate for voltage loss on long cabling. Without that, it is not possible to properly switch the polarization. Add a tristate check box to allow enabling/disabling this via ioctl. But when exiting after > > that if block (its actually rather this line which is relevant), kaffeine > > will work nicely. > > > > (in which area of the kaffeine code source does such functionality belong > > to?) > > Let me try to understand it better. This ioctl sets the LNBf voltage Actually, no. This ioctl is defined only for a few devices. It switches from "normal" voltage mode (13V/18V) to a "higher" voltage mode, that adds 1V, in order to compensate for cable loss (e. g. 14V/19V). Very few DVB devices implements it. That's why I missed on the first time I looked into it. I just added a new configuration option to DVB-S/S2 that will allow enabling this ioctl at Kaffeine. On tri-state mode, it won't use the ioctl at all, just like before. That prevents a lot at libdvbv5 that would otherwise happen if called and the device doesn't support it: 13-08-17 18:07:58.265 [Critical] kaffeine.dev: FE_ENABLE_HIGH_LNB_VOLTAGE: Operation not supported Checking the box will enable the higher voltage mode; unchecking the normal mode. In any case, the previous Kernel patch that detects current overflow sounds a good idea, so I'm pushing it to the Kernel tree. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kwin] [Bug 383465] New: 25 second delays for apps in Plasma 5
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=383465 Bug ID: 383465 Summary: 25 second delays for apps in Plasma 5 Product: kwin Version: 5.10.4 Platform: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: thestarvingonegam...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Warning: it might be either kwin or overall plasmashell problem, or even something else. I don't have the knowledge to say for sure. Also the problems started since one of previous updates, today cannot say which exactly as I was waiting for it to be fixed as one of apparent problems when using the system. Possible it's a problem of upgrading from 5.9 to 5.10 Also I set severity to major as that bug is really annoying in everyday usage of the system - a big flaw on user experience and performance. Problem appears when using apps like Spotify (the worst case), Telegram, Dolphin, Krita and possibly many more I haven't ever noticed or used. Spotify case: after a new song is played either automaticly or by the user, app does not response for a period of 25 seconds, allowing more or less actions. Scrolling through music playlists is usually possible, but no way to change the song playing, stop it... You need to wait these 25 seconds. In that time the album cover doesn't refresh either. Happens all the time till the end of undescribed period, probably long hours of the system running, it disappears discarding other problems as well Telegram case: entering settings runs partially animation of the button, then freezes (I don't know exact time here, but it is most likely related to Spotify case, so to this bug. It is around 20 seconds for sure, expect 25) Happens just one time after running the system. Doplhin & Krita case: Any kind of confirmation windows should probably be included here: mostly file deletion is my case. The window doesn't even fully render before the freeze passes - visible are just decorations and possibly some kind of a shadow..? Discover case: cannot make it a firm example, because it was having problems since I've started using Plasma. Still: possible a freeze after updating system visible when trying to close the app might be the same thing as above. I might also mention I have created another user account once in the past. Weirdly the other user account doesn't show any signs of the problems listed above. This makes me suspect it is kind of corruption which appears after some time of using one account for some time. And again: it's just my guess - a possible hint. Another possible hint: after one of updates (cannot say what was updated that time, it was a list of packages, not an update of Plasma though) the problem disappeared for one run of the system. And it came back. I own a flawed WD hard drive which started delaying my downloads and making Spotify go silent, so I disconnected it from my computer. In effect after running system the delay decreased to 5 seconds, but it didn't last for long, probably matter of 10 minutes and everything is back to "normal" - 25 seconds. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=383434 Hugo Pereira Da Costachanged: What|Removed |Added CC||hugo.pereira.da.costa@gmail ||.com, ||kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org --- Comment #4 from Hugo Pereira Da Costa --- Hi, Thanks for posting the suggestion, it is a valid point. I have code here that adds the requested feature, but (and this is why I re-add kwin in cc): 1/ for buttons on the left, it does not work, never did it seems, because there seems to be a "dead" one pixel on the side. (also true with plastique, and any decoration I have tested) 2/ for buttons on the right, it works, except that if you put the cursor in the top right corner, although the button appears hovered (and react as it should on press), the mouse cursor is still changed to the "diagonal" one, indicating that you could "resize" the window (which you cant) As far as I know, which cursor is drawn in which location is handled by kwin (or kdecoration2), not by the decoration itself, so I have no control over this. Martin: can you have a look ? If that helps I can commit the code I have written, even if imperfect. Best, Hugo -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
