[krusader] [Bug 386314] Sidebar (Popup panel previously) buttons are missing

2018-01-27 Thread Nikita Melnichenko
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=386314

Actually, the layout.xml under ~./local is not a problem. The app reads
/usr/share/krusader/layout.xml which is from old 2.6.0 version. The file is
installed by a package manager.

In the code it comes from QStandardPaths::DataLocation - I'm not sure how to
overcome the problem properly. Is this supposed to be sensitive to install
prefix? CMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX="/usr/local" doesn't solve the problem. Any hints
are appreciated.

The easiest part, i.e. code changes, is done. I also fixed another bug related
to a search bar in my branch. Now I need to figure out how to create a pull
request... bear with me.

[kwin] [Bug 389495] When GTK3 applications request SSD, decorations are either not shown or show SSD on top of CSD

My debug output? Or yours?

GTK3 needs a patch to force SSD, because their implementation prefers SSD, but
their codepath always ends up erroneously selecting CSD, when it shouldn't be.

Even when requesting SSD, with my patch, MyPaint never gets any SSD, which
confuses me.

[frameworks-baloo] [Bug 380456] Suspected memory leak in baloo_file_extractor

2018-01-27 Thread DDR
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=380456

Comment on attachment 110170
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=110170
Upon killing baloo_file_extractor, I suddenly have a lot more free memory.

baloo_file_extractor always seems to use about 16gb of memory, allocated fairly
quickly after I start my computer. Commands such as ` balooctl index * ` are
unresponsive until I've killed the process.

I'm running Ubuntu 17.10, which is up-to-date as today. (2018-01-27)

I don't think the index is an issue, even if it was held entirely memory it
wouldn't account for half the problem.
$ balooctl indexSize
Actual Size: 6.80 GiB
Expected Size: 5.04 GiB

When the memory usage is high (before the cliff in the attached image):
$ balooctl status
Baloo File Indexer is running
^C

After I kill baloo_file_extractor (after the cliff in the attached image):
$ balooctl status
Baloo File Indexer is running
Indexer state: Indexing file content
Indexed 356513 / 374337 files
Current size of index is 11.08 GiB

Let me know if I can provide any more information.

Thanks!

Is that the right course of action?

The original bug report was that bolded text did not work in Konsole. Many of
the bugs marked as duplicates of this bug reported the same thing.

Now there needs to be another bug report for the workaround for the original
bug? Shouldn't there be one bug report to enable bold text?

-- Information about the crash:
This computer is running Adelie Linux, which uses the musl libc. The crash
occurs in musl's free() method - here is the relevant two lines from musl code:

/* Crash on corrupted footer (likely from buffer overflow) */
if (next->psize != self->csize) a_crash();

This suggests that the Spider solver had a small buffer overflow.

[gwenview] [Bug 297853] Smooth scroll of thumbnails

2018-01-27 Thread Nate Graham
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=297853

In gwenview 17.12.1 and 18.03.70 (unreleased; compiled from git master), using
my mouse's scroll wheel on humongous thumbnails makes them move by less than
one thumbnail width/height per scroll tick.

If you continue to experience the same issue once you get any of those
versions, it could be an issue with your mouse scroll settings.

MarginsTooBig

It seems that the margins for application comments are hard set, we may need to
allow them to use more room or more consistent with the spacing for the app
details. The attached image shows margins are too big for the reviews page.

There appears to be an intermediate state when clicking list items in system

The fact that the search bar disappears depending on where you are may make it

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=384617

In manjaro they use exactly the same package for dolphin as in arch.
I have just compared md5sum of arch's and manjaro's
dolphin-17.12.1-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz file and they are both
1ee7c1b7286a22e6a8eb2ca2df93fba2
So perhaps problem is not dolpnin itself, but some component, which is used by
dolphin to show that meta information.

On my neon dev unstable only jpg files are affected.

2018-01-27 Thread Kyle Devir
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=389495

Thanks Martin,

When GTK3 requests SSD, GTK3 should be dropping the remaining CSD for Evince
and others, allowing an SSD provider to do their own decorations. This is a
GTK3 bug, I believe. Without said bug, the SSD should work properly, instead of
being buggy and weird.

However, for MyPaint and such, because SSDs are being requested, KWin should be
providing SSD. When it requests CSD, leaving it undecorated is the right thing
to do, however, as you explained. This bug is weirder than the first one,
because I'm not so sure it's a GTK3 bug.

Why isn't KWin also providing SSD for MyPaint and such, as it does for Evince
and others, in spite of the CSD shown in the latter?

I have KMM v.4.8.0 with accompanying KDE 4.12.5 installed on Windows 7 x32.

Under Settings/Configure KMyMoney/Fonts, either {Ledger} Cell font or Header
font changes do not change regardless of font or fontsize chosen, also
regardless whether "Use system fonts" is checked or not checked.

I have no basis to assume this is a Windows or KDE issue but in a similar KDE
app called Homebank, the dev indicated it had something to do with KDE.

Is there anything I can do to correct this as I have vision issues and would
greatly benefit from a larger font.

Thank you very much.

Summary: Using Formats with 'Detailed Settings' causes errors
   Product: systemsettings
   Version: 5.11.95
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: kcm_formats
  Assignee: se...@kde.org
  Reporter: david.cortes.riv...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

When setting different standards for formats (systemsettings5 --> Regional
Settings --> Formats --> check 'Detailed Settings'), it seems that something is
set incorrectly and affects other applications.

I am not sure what the problem is exactly, but it causes problems in other
applications – for example:
-R throws this message: Setting LC_TIME failed, using "C"
-wine throws this message: locale 'en_US' cannot be set
-Ark fails to extract files with non-ACII characters (and displays them as
question marks)

Black "t" is vector layer, brown is rasterized

As shows in attached screenshot - text in vector layer (black) is cropped. "t"
should look like the brown one (rasterized).

Does the demo in demo/ work?

I've tried to reproduce the problem but cannot. I've tried on my machine and in
the provided docker environment.

The latter gives this output when running in valgrind:

I can confirm this behaviour. The Qxt project is long dead, but I kept the code
in place as it continued to work and no good replacement was available. Now
that it is reproducible broken, a fix needs to be found.

The error states that a constraint already exists with the name. But that's not
really possible because the update procedure clears all of them. I think your
DB is broken and you start with a new DB - Unfortunately.

updateDAlbums.patch

This patch adds an update to the date albums when changing the date of an
image. The update timer is currently set to 30 seconds and can still be
reduced. Updating the date albums is time consuming. I think a patch for
digikam-6.0.0.

Just checked other vector tool (rectangle) - the issue is the same: I'm still
using the dark brown colour from selector, but the rectangle appears bright

[krita] [Bug 389524] New: Text parts outside of "frame" draw a "tracks" when the "frame" is dragged around

2018-01-27 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=389524

Bug ID: 389524
Summary: Text parts outside of "frame" draw a "tracks" when the
"frame" is dragged around
   Product: krita
   Version: 4.0.0-beta.1
  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Tool/Text
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: kali...@wp.pl
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 110157
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=110157=edit
Black "line" below text is the track drawn by "A"

When some part of text is outside the vector object "frame", it gets drawn on
the display when the "frame" is moved around. Fortunately it's only a display
bug - it doesn't appear in exported image.

[kde-gtk-config] [Bug 389523] New: GDK_DPI_SCALE seems to have changed with the latest updates to 0.571429. Firefox, Chromium and Thunderbird now have tiny fonts on a hidpi screen despite existing set

2018-01-27 Thread Aayush Agarwal

Bug ID: 389523
Summary: GDK_DPI_SCALE seems to have changed with the latest
updates to 0.571429. Firefox, Chromium and Thunderbird
now have tiny fonts on a hidpi screen despite existing
settings to scale the display.
   Product: kde-gtk-config
   Version: 5.11.95
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: manutort...@chakra-project.org

  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 110156
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=110156=edit
The tabs and menu bars have tiny fonts, unlike the window decoration and
browser.

I have a laptop with a hidpi screen (14" 1440p). I configured my dpi to 168 and
scaled the display to 1.75.

I had to set layout.css.devPixelsPerPx;1.75 on firefox, while thunderbird was
fine out of the box with my dpi and monitor scaling settings.

This configuration worked just fine until tumbleweed updated to more recent
snapshots.

Firefox interface fonts became very small, while Thunderbird became tiny.
Modifying the layout.css attribute in thunderbird restored order to the mail
size, but the interface is still tiny.

Chromium too became tiny, with no scaling to respect hidpi screens.

I tried appending export GDK_DPI_SCALE=1.75 to my .profile. I figured maybe
there was a change in the configuration which caused this. However that did not
work.

I dug around and found that while GDK_SCALE was 1.75, GDK_DPI_SCALE was
0.571429. My export statement was ignored. Multiply the values of the two
environmental variables and you get 1.0075, or almost exactly 1x scaling.

Thanks for the quick response. I thought that this bug might happen because
baloo (the file indexer from KDE) had a problem picking up the metadata of
your files in the home directory. I don't know what else could cause this
problem, but maybe someone else can.

[plasmashell] [Bug 388214] Zombie notifications in plasmashell. There must be way to inspect/debug what is going on...

2018-01-27 Thread David Tonhofer
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=388214

Ok, it happened again.

It happens when you copy the contents of large directories (1000's of files)
using Dolphin.

At which point the world stops (even the clock gets stuck for 10 minutes...)

And then you are plagued by 30 by thirty ghost notifications (maybe they are
created whenever dolphin asks for overwrite confirmation?)
