With both a 15.12.3 under Ubuntu 16.04 and a 17.08.2 under Ubuntu 17.10 I run
into the same problem:

I'd like to record audio tracks (voice comment) to be added on videos, and I
have configured kdenlive in the configuration settings to just record audio, no
video, and appropriate audio devices (pavucontrol shows kdenlive is properly
connected), but as soon as I press the record button I get an error message

Capture crashed, please check your parameters

without further hints. 

A problem might be that kdenlive leaves the choice between Webcam and Screen
Grab only in the input selector.

In retrospect I didn't describe this very well and it is too long ago to recall
details of a feature that was not workable for me so I processed data entry out
of the program. Let me explain it like this:

Efficient keyboard entry (without mouse) is critical. I have used Quickbooks so
I'll demonstrate with an example using direct entry into the ledger using this
image:

Keystrokes are also very similar on the deposit/ withdrawal/ cheque/ invoice/
transfer form.

After a transaction is accepted new transaction form lines are generated with
the current date the user is up to. The cursor is on Payee and user enters as
much as is required to select the payee from a list. If enter is pressed the
the record is accepted, alternatively the user can change the amount and press
enter or tab around the other fields, including the splits and tax, and press
enter or escape to finish the record. There are other keyboard shortcuts on the
form too.

The process is the same for auto-fill except the Payee is already entered and
the amount is selected so it can be changed, accepted or other details changed.
(eg enter to except transaction at current date user is up to or a few
keystrokes to change amount then enter to accept transaction.)

I realised the KMM fields are entered in a different order but the (old?)
Quickbooks interface works with fields most likely to change being entered
increasing the likelihood that other field data can be accepted first.

I'd be more than happy to collaborate on improving the data entry but I'd need
a template to code it.

Performance logging is *not* related to the crash log. Please follow the
instructions in https://docs.krita.org/Dr._Mingw_debugger to get the crash log,
and ignore the performance logging.

- What I was doing when the application crashed: Was trying to search for an
application when it crashed. Regretfully I didn't wait for the search result

Apologies for having included aacid, that was clearly a mistake I won't make
again.

Answering to the Konsole maintainers:

That should be reason enough to add a v18.03.70 tag. IMHO it just doesn't make
much sense to use tags that correspond to versions if you don't do it
systematically (like the vast majority of other KDE projects do).

The "Add source..." option in Discover Settings triggers a pop-up that is too
narrow to show the full title by default (see screenshot). Increasing the width
would look nicer.

It would be a nice option to be able to send the current file as an email.

I often need to do this with docs opened from the net and I know I can save to
a temp file, upload and then email but simply sending via my email client
(kmail) would be very handy - I use this feature all the time in LO

This have recently reappeared in Dev Unstable edition where all qtbase-dev
packages were forcefully uninstalled by apt dist-upgrade and now while I'm
trying to reinstall for example qtquick1-5-dev it outputs:

Just for testing I've added a real videocam to make /dev/video0 appear. 

Again, kdenlive issues that error message, but once I check the video button,
it starts to records (with video), and then crashes with a segfault.

in the case a vfat removable device has $() or `` in its label,
such as $(touch foo) the quoted command may get executed,
leaving an attack vector. Use KMacroExpander::expandMacrosShellQuote
to make sure everything is quoted and not interpreted as a command

You really need to stop unsubscribing me, it's extremely impolite.

18.03.70 is a "developing version", it doesn't exist, so there can't be a tag
for it, tags are "a fixed point in the code when a version was set", and
there's no fixed point in code that represents 18.03.70.

This is not exclusive to konsole, all of the KDE Applications repositories are
like this, so as said, if you have a problem with how our release story works,
bring it up in the release-team mailing list.

Or consider following KDevelop's approach:

- current release version is 5.2.1; `git describe` returns
v5.2.1-45-gbda9fd5a29 in the 5.2 release branch
- the version used in the master branch is 5.2.40, for which there is no tag.
However, `git describe` returns v5.2.1-368-gb4934d31d4 in the master branch.
This is perfectly usable too as it clearly shows that the master branch is well
ahead of the release branch. It is even preferable because it allows to
continue merging commits between the master and release branches AND to have
5.2.2, 5.2.3, ... commits before moving on to 5.3.0 .

I cited Okular earlier on, where `git describe` does return a sensical value in
the master branch that relates it correctly to the release version. The project
itself uses a completely different versioning which is weird but unlikely to
lead to ambiguity since it is so clearly independent from the collective
versioning.

I discovered several more anomalies, and there seem to be some randomness to
them.

 - Creating and editing profiles may result in a profile file (at
.local/share/krita/authorinfo ) with empty XML tags, while the field contents
are still saved somewhere as Krita retains them.

 - Editing profiles may result in field data apparently disappearing (combined
with a crash) and later reappearing, or appearing under a different profile

 - Deleted profiles may randomly re-appear, including removed profile files
getting recreated and fields may or may not contain the correct data

 - Various actions may result in a crash:
 --- Clicking "Add contact info" (100% crash)
 --- Saving a profile
 --- Creating a profile
 --- Deleting a profile
 --- Saving an image while "sign with author profile" is ticked

Afraid it's still happening with the icon for Libre office.  Screenshot shows
the correctly positioned LO icon (pointed to my mouse cursor) and the second LO
icon at far right.

Unpinning and re-adding the LO icon (as had been suggested in one of the
previous related bug reports) does not effect a "cure".

There isn't a more "fixed point in code" that represents 17.12.1 or any other
released version: a version upgrade is always a single point in time regardless
whether it's a release or a development version.

I don't care what form tags take, so there must be any number of ways project
authors can tag branches which are not used in the release "story" without
causing confusion there, and while still keeping a logical link between a given
point in the commit history and a version reported from inside the application.
Ideally the application would report a more fully qualified version itself that
indicates from which snapshot it was built, but that's a separate issue (cf.
patch review D8158). Being able to put a local version on your install or
packaging that's based on a version obtained directly from git is the next best
solution.

So, Konsole author(s): please consider adding a master branch tag for
18.04.whatever whenever that "version" appears and if necessary.

I hoped it was just a matter of adding a bunch of KDirNotify emissions but
turns out that KCoreDirLister only emits a change if it considers the
KFileItems to be different. Xattr stuff is not known to KFileItem so it never
emits a change for these.

Right now translation builds are serialized by the build-{po,ts}files.cmake
scripts.
This makes no use of the job count passed to make and as a result makes builds
that include a whole lot of translations (e.g. plasma-workspace) take much
longer than necessary as neither CPU nor disk resources are properly utilized.

Translations builds should parallelize to make full use of the available job
count.

Hi! Could you please give some more information about your setup regarding
activities/screens/folder views. I'm mainly interested in how many activities
you have, which one does it have a folder view, where do they point.

Using KDE Neon with Plasma 5.11.5 on a Lenovo ThinkPad T470S with a ThinkPad
USB-C Dock and an external monitor.

A plasma panel is on the main monitor (on the laptop) and its visibility is set
to the default "Always Visible".

When I use only the laptop screen, the panel behaves as expected, i.e. windows
are not allowed to hover or go below the panel. However, when I connect the
USB-C dock and the second monitor comes into play, suddenly the panel behaves
as if its visibility has been set to "Windows Go Below". Note that in the "More
Settings" of the panel the visibility is still set to "Always Visible".

A simple workaround to make the panel behave as expected is to go the "More
Settings" of the panel, choose some other visibility setting before choosing
again the "Always Visible" setting.
