Present windows doesn't inhibit alt+F1 - that's just a long-standing bug on X11

Could you detail what the problem is if we did make it the default? So far your
commment does not contain anything we could try to tackle to make any perceived
problem go away.

Another option would be to make the checkbox to turn off remembering easily

I reported this issue earlier, but I did not know all the "specifics" for it to
be helpful, I guess. Now, I do. I deleted my blacklist file and all of my old
brushes appeared in Krita again, however, it seems whenever I create a new
brush in Krita and edit it in the next session, a blacklist file is created so
when that session ends, the third session will hide the brush, even though I
never chose to delete it myself...

This is quite a pain, because the only way to combat this is to delete the
blacklist file every time Krita is executed...

"Enable power management" is checked , but it seems that the culprit was the
screen saver so after I disabled it the screen stays on so I will close this
and reopen if needed.

Personally, I'm not in favor of remembering the last-used region by default.
The most common use case for this is capturing before-and-after screenshots for
bugs and patches. These are developer-centric workflows that I don't believe
it's wise to optimize around. For people like us who do have this use case,
there's a nice option, and it will even be more discoverable once the configure
button is visible on the main window in 18.04.

Hello,

thank YOU for the compliment, too. :)

I am developer myself and I went on to implement those requests; I was able
to insert "Puzzle Image" item into background selection combobox, but MOC
files are currently out of my scope and principles behind them. I used to
do some stuff in Qt, but I'd have to refresh my knowledge again.

What I'd like to know is: which IDE is used for Palapeli development?

I tried to import project into KDEvelop, but since it's CMAKE-d, I am not
(yet) able to build project from it. I am however able to debug it.

To recreate the issue:
Set:
System Settings -> Window Management -> Window Behavior -> Titlebar Actions -
Titlebar - Wheel event : Move to Previous/Next Desktop

Go approx. halfway down in any scroll-able window and rapidly scroll up.  After
a rapid scroll up - move your mouse over the titlebar of an open application
and the window will Infinite Move to Next Desktop until you click or perform
some other mouse event.

I noticed this on Gitstable and User Edition KDE NEON.

So yeah, this is what I said: icons with previews (including folders) are
displayed larger than icons without previews (including folders).

I suppose we could just make all non-previewed icons larger? to match the size
of the preview versions. But that might be kind of ugly.

I have the screen energy savings set at 30min 

When playing a video in full screen - VLC , Stremio the screen turns off after
the 30min so it seems the shell doesn't detected that something is running in
full screen.

What's the actual bug here? That the icon displayed in the Information Panel
always shows a preview for images, even if image previews are turned off for
icons? If so, perhaps we can change that now that we turned previews on by
default.

What I was trying to tell you is that we used to omit it, it also looked bad.

apparently the cursor on xwayland applications has the correct size

The cursor on a plasma wayland session is bigger, but has the correct size on
xwayland apps or at least on non qt apps. Note: It also flicks to the center of
the screen while plasma is loading

Yes, although Spotify is usually idle while I'm at home. I mostly use it via
bluetooth in the car.

I cannot really explain the issue, it just crashes. I don't even notice it
(except there are no longer any notifications). I usually only detect this when
looking at dmesg.

items.

They may be global, but they don't need to be accessible at all times.

After a while working on my laptop and/or after some suspend/hibernate the
super (meta) key stop working in order to launch the application menu. The
problem disappear after rebooting. The Alt+F1 shortcut keeps working normally
too.

Reproducible: sometimes after suspend/hibernate on KDE Plasma 5.11 in
Tumbleweed snapshot 21/01/2018 or plugin external USB keyboard. The problem
does not happen on KDE Plasma 5.8 LTS. 


Workaround: I load the application Superkey if I want to work around the
problem without rebooting. Rebooting always solves the problem for a while.




Note: Launching ksuperkey while Meta key is working fine out-of-the-box after
rebooting causes the Meta key to stop opening the application menu.


The problem may be related to

but solutions didn't work. Also trying the command "kquitapp5
kglobalaccel5;kglobalaccel5 & kwin_x11 --replace" didn't work.

I don't see why. I have numerous folder widgets in my panel with a lot of
files, and it's way faster to pop it open and find a file by filtering than
navigating to dolphin, opening the file, potentially moving the window to the
correct virtual desktop, etc.

along with the code:

Wrap list of actions in QPointers

The delayed timer for updating the gui might actually call updateGUI
after the window has been destroyed, so the actions are all gone. To
avoid the timing issue, wrap the actions the Action Manager manages
but not owns in a QPointer

I think you are correct. Likely only KWin crashed. After I took a screen shot
(I tried to take a screenshot of current active window, which is firefox), the
title bar disappeared. BTW, it's not necessary to be full screen.

My intention was to improve a common function, because *nobody* asks for it. 
*the standard* of all measures is Photoshop for 2d related applications, which
is superstitious and disgusting. 
Krita needs not to bowing in front of other applications because it's more
innovative and intuitive than the competition. Let's drop prehistoric features
and focus on improvement not emulation. Krita should write new rule as little
as those steps are.

Actually, that's what I'm doing right now. I have tried different delay values:
No Delay, 1s, 2s, KWin will crash as long as the "Include window titlebar and
borders" is checked. It works well if this option is unchecked.

No need to bump this bug report I'm well aware of this issue but haven't found
the time to think about an architecture yet.

It could be linked to notifications (if the application sends along its desktop
file name for which there is a field nowadays) but not sure what having a badge
in the task manager alongside a notification popup help, it's not like chat
message are (or should be) persistent. It's complicated..
