[systemsettings] [Bug 100016] unclear text explanation in default browser dialog
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100016 --- Comment #12 from Nate Graham --- Git commit 7bd7f38400b953a988a2cc942a518339e0b094a8 by Nate Graham. Committed on 23/12/2018 at 04:14. Pushed by ngraham into branch 'master'. [KRun] when asked to open link in external browser, fall back to mimeapps.list if nothing is set in kdeglobals Summary: Right now, when KRun is invoked to open an `http` or `https` link in a browser, it checks the `BrowserApplication` key in `~/.config/kdeglobals`. If nothing is set there (which is the default), then it introspects the link and figures out for itself what app to open, which is slow and can cause problems with certain links (see CCBUGs below). This patch improves the browser discovery logic by additionally looking for a default browser in `~/.config/mimeapps.list`, which is the XDG file and it's where browsers set themselves as the default. So if there is a default browser set in there, KRun will consume that information immediately instead of doing the time-consuming and possibly error-inducing link introspection round-trip. Related: bug 347870 Test Plan: 1. Open System Settings > Applications > Default Applications > Browser and click "In an application based on the contents of the url" (which is the default setting, but you might have changed it) 2. Set `BrowserApplication[$e]=` in `~/.config/kdeglobals` 3. Ensure that `~/.config/mimeapps/list` has a default browser set 4. Open any KDE app > Help menu > About KDE > Click on one of the links in the dialog Without this patch, a KRun job is spawned that shows up in the notification widget and the link may take a second or two to open in your default browser. With this patch, the link instantly opens in the browser. The version running 5.10 never even tries to connect to my smtp server. The settings are identical on both machines. I'll also note that 5.10 also is not able to send for another account using EWS whereas 5.9.3 does work, again, with identical settings. When I test the SMTP connection, everything is good. It recognizes port 587 with TLS and plain password authentication. The outgoing mail server, login and password are identical as is the server requiring authentication. The advanced settings are also identical via auto detect, STARTTLS, port 587 and plain authentication without any proxy. I also maintain the Postfix server so I can monitor the logs in realtime. 5.9.3 works as expected but with 5.10 there is never any incoming connection to the server. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Write an email 2. Hit send 3. See email stuck in local outbox folder OBSERVED RESULT No connection is made to the SMTP server. EXPECTED RESULT Kontact/KMail should at least make a TCP connection to port 587 on the specified server. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: MacOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: OpenSuSE 15.0 with latest KDE version (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.14.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 18.12.0 Qt Version: 5.12.0 Akonadi 18.12.0 Kontact: 5.10.0 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Kontact 5.9.3 works fine. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[okular] [Bug 402477] New: [Request] Better handling of landscape documents in Auto Fit
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=402477 Bug ID: 402477 Summary: [Request] Better handling of landscape documents in Auto Fit Product: okular Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: okular-de...@kde.org Reporter: magib...@hotmail.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 117069 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=117069=edit Fit Width vs Fit Page comparison of a lecture slide Hello, As a student, I spend the day running across documents containing lecture slides. Usually, slides look better in 'Fit Page' mode, where in addition it is possible to comfortably navigate through them with the left and right keys. However, 'Auto Fit' (the default zoom) doesn't take this into account and uses 'Fit Width'. Obviously, setting 'Fit Page' as the default zoom isn't a solution because I also have to read portrait documents. My suggestion is to make 'Auto Fit' take into account the aspect ratio of the page, so that the whole page is shown for landscape documents. I don't know what's good for everybody else, so I'd be fine if there was just an option to enable this. I have noticed bug 239955, but it's 8 years old, so I decided to open a new report that fits the current version of Okular. Thank you very much. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[Falkon] [Bug 402476] New: Bookmarks: Importing them not like in other browsers and more
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=402476 Bug ID: 402476 Summary: Bookmarks: Importing them not like in other browsers and more Product: Falkon Version: unspecified Platform: MS Windows OS: MS Windows Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: now...@gmail.com Reporter: felipefp...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- 1 - When importing bookmarks they go to unsorted bookmarks instead of going to bookmarks menu like on firefox or opera 12 (they werent in unsorted bookmarks' section of any other browser) this would put them in the right place so they can be used right away. Instead i have to select them and move them with the mouse to the right place, i cant use Ctrl+X or Ctrl+C plus Ctrl+V to cut/copy/paste them like on other browsers. 2 - Nice small cosmetic change: make the library where bookmarks/history are ALWAYS start maximized. ;) 3 - The colums "Title" and "Address" on top cant be used to organize bookmarks by alphabetical order of their names or web addresses like on other browsers. (Once organized this config is auto-saved by the browser) 4 - It doesnt make sense to have an "unsorted bookmarks" or "bookmarks toolbar" in the bookmarks's section of the menu bar, i mean, who will access the toolbar from there or use unsorted stuff? Ppl usuall organize stuff by order. Also, those extra menus just add cluttler to the GUI. 5 - When importing or adding bookmarks manually they arent organized by alphabetical order, no browser organizes favorites alphabetically when importing, it would be nice i falkon was a 1st on this. ;) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

With COPR repos, if any repository lacks appdata, packagekit will cease to perform updates. Basically, if there is any problem with any repository, you will no longer be able to update your system. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393417 Erik Quaeghebeur changed: What|Removed |Added CC||k...@equaeghe.nospammail.net --- Comment #3 from Erik Quaeghebeur --- (In reply to Albert Astals Cid from comment #0) > I have a few emails that have attachments in the form of > > Content-Disposition: inline; > filename=BusinessCardSheet2nd-edition1.pdf > Content-Type: application/pdf; > x-unix-mode=0644; > name="BusinessCardSheet2nd-edition1.pdf" > Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64 > > And they don't have the "have attachment" flag set, meaning that when i > change the filter to show only emails with attachments they do not show up. This is most likely because of “Content-Disposition: inline”: this is not an attachment! The program that composed the mail is saying: “You should display this inline.” Of course for a pdf, this is going to be difficult (perhaps the Apple MUA can?) It is entirely like inline jpegs in html mail. But now, instead of a jpeg, there is a pdf. I guess it's entirely correct MIME. My take is that kmail should treat inline MIME parts that it cannot display as attachments. Could you save such a mail, remove any personal info from it, and attach it here? If the developers get to this bug, that would be convenient. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kaddressbook] [Bug 402472] New: kaddressbook doesn't show any contacts
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=402472 Bug ID: 402472 Summary: kaddressbook doesn't show any contacts Product: kaddressbook Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: grave Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org Reporter: ka...@seznam.cz CC: to...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 117067 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=117067=edit screenshot of the problem Somewhen during upgrades, my contacts got lost - or to be precise, the ability of kmail to autocomplete addresses from contacts. (I don't know when that happened as the autocomplete still works with recent addresses so I haven't noticed until the address I needed wasn't among recently used ...) Trying to fix that, I've opened kaddressbook to check the contact and eventually fix that, but I saw nothing and could fix nothing because there is nothing to configure in kaddressbook. So I went to akonadiconsole to find there is no contacts agent. So I have added the one for vcf file and pointed it to the good old 'std.vcf' file. Hooray, now autocomplete/search by name in kmail works for all the contacts ... But I cannot (easily) edit them, as none of them are shown in kaddressbook. (Well, via akonadiconsole I can edit anything ...) However, kaddressbook obviously works with the vcf agent, as I can add a contact, it shows 'std.vcf' in a dropdown selecting where to store the new contact, and if I save it, it gets added to the 'std.vcf' file. The appended screenshot shows a contact selected in akonadiconsole, so the agent obviously works, but at the same time no contacts are shown in kaddressbook ... STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. add a vcf file resource to akonadi 2. open kaddressbook 3. add a contact to that vcf OBSERVED RESULT you cannot see the freshly added contact in kaddressbook examining the vcf file, you see the contact got added into it EXPECTED RESULT the new contact shows in kaddressbook (and of course it is added to the file) SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.14.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.52.0 Qt Version: 5.11.1 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[digikam] [Bug 402379] Moving location of RAW file causes loss of metadata
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=402379 --- Comment #4 from Maik Qualmann --- It definitely does not matter, because SQLite has always saved with 3 additional digits. Such a date is scanned at most once and now the more accurate date is stored. But no metadata are lost. Are there any LR sidecar files in the directory? Digikam-6b3 will first look for sidecars in LR format and use these if they exist. I will go over their instructions step by step again. I see it right that their database is in the state of digiKam-5.9.0, since a back from 6.0.0 would not be possible because of the higher version number. Then the 3 additional digits will not exist after the start of digiKam-6.0.0 with the migration to V10. To get the extra 3 digits you need to create a new database and use the migration tool to convert the database. I'll check... https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=402458 --- Comment #5 from leonmaxx --- I did some debugging: SidebarMode.cpp:476 d->quickWidget->setSource(QUrl::fromLocalFile(d->package.filePath("mainscript"))); package.filePath("mainscript") resolves properly to "/usr/share/kpackage/genericqml/org.kde.systemsettings.sidebar/contents/ui/main.qml" Seems like problem in d->quickWidget->setSource() call. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[digikam] [Bug 402379] Moving location of RAW file causes loss of metadata
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=402379 --- Comment #3 from meku --- I have not enabled "Cleanup Database". I am testing with a single collection, on a single partition. I believe there is an additional condition that triggers this bug and it is related to the filesystem timestamps of the photos. Using 'stat' on my system shows nanosecond accuracy. Some files have not been modified for some years and show all zeros for the trailing digits, eg. Modify: 2013-01-29 14:31:22.0 other files have been modified recently and have use all the trailing digits, eg. Modify: 2018-12-23 01:06:52.322555833 This bug appears to be related to the files timestamp has non-zeros in the trailing digits. Furthermore this bug only triggers when a FOLDER is moved, it does not appear to trigger when an individual file is moved. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Create at least 2 test folders with RAW files (include xmp sidecars to test with sidecars enabled) At least one RAW/xmp file should have full resolution timestamp. 'touch' file if necessary to update timestamp and use 'stat' to confirm. 2. Start DK5.9 and add collection with these folders. At this point you can choose whether to test the RAW or xmp timestamps. Select Metadata option 'Read from sidecar files' to test the xmp timestamps. 3. Add some metadata to the file that you 'touched', such as caption or tag. 3. Close DK5.9 4. Open DK6.0 5. Using Digikam album list, move the folder - such as dragging and dropping onto a subfolder. OBSERVED RESULT The metadata added in step 3 will have disappeared. And inspecting the Images database table will show duplicate records with same filename and uniqueHash. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I have tested this on Ubuntu 18.04.1 with external database MariaDB v10.2.19 Altering the Images table to use DATETIME(3) for 'modificationDate' and then running 'Reread metadata from image' appears to mitigate this bug. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
