[dolphin] [Bug 371130] unable to reassign standard shortcut for backspace to "up" instead of "back"
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371130 Forest changed: What|Removed |Added CC||forestc...@ixio.org --- Comment #10 from Forest --- A cursory look at the code revealed (I think) where the hidden shortcut is being added: https://github.com/KDE/dolphin/blob/0303df092d93a39122fce82aade93d96d52430dc/src/dolphinmainwindow.cpp#L1315 +1 for fixing this. It wasted several hours of my day while I was test driving KDE, and didn't exactly instill confidence in the platform. If it's going to take a while to agree on a good UI for exposing all the shortcuts, how about swapping the "Back" and "Backspace" shortcuts for now? That ought to make the "Backspace" shortcut visible, which would avoid the surprising experience of a keyboard shortcut not appearing with all the other standard keyboard shortcuts, and the frustrating experience of a built-in conflict that seems impossible to resolve. The "Back" action usually comes from a dedicated mouse button or scroll wheel tilt, or (less commonly) from a dedicated button on a keyboard. I expect that remapping it is less common, so giving it the hidden shortcut position would seem to be the lesser evil. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

I wrote the last significant feature changes to the Palapeli app in 2014-5, using KDE 4 libraries. It has since been ported by other programmers to use Frameworks (KF5) libraries. The libraries provide the menu bar contents in either case. > > I wonder if anyone is interested in suggestions for this program. If so, > please see: > > http://lenagames.com/bigjig.htm I wish I had known about that app when I was writing the "large puzzle" extensions for Palapeli...:-( Also, using the mouse wheel to rotate pieces is a great idea. As you know, Palapeli only shuffles the positions of pieces, not the orientation. > In this game, it is much easier to move pieces from window to window. Also, > it is easier to change the background. And there is no reason to highlight > chosen pieces. > > If there is a version of Palapeli newer than 2.0, please explain how I can > obtain it. I guess there is not, except the change to make your puzzle-library's display 2-dimensional --- otherwise only the mods required to add language translations and remain compatible with newer versions of KDE and Qt libraries whenever they are released. > If all of this seems to be a waste of your time, please excuse me and don't > bother to reply. [kdiff3] [Bug 410962] kdiff3 vs svn (subversion)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=410962 --- Comment #6 from Rob Brown --- I cloned and built. The resulting executable properly handles the -L options. Looks good. I'll look forward to this getting into the next release. Thanks. - - - Some off-topic observations: 1. The INSTALL file says "cmake && make". This didn't work for me. I eventually found that "cmake . && make" worked. 2. I have no idea if this is expected, or if it is my environment, but the "cmake . && make" command produced 1681 lines of output, including 218 warnings (apparently 1 from cmake and 217 from make) and 214 "... is deprecated". -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kwin] [Bug 412046] New: Task switcher starts from second task when active screen is changed by mouse moves
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=412046 Bug ID: 412046 Summary: Task switcher starts from second task when active screen is changed by mouse moves Product: kwin Version: 5.16.5 Platform: Archlinux Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: tabbox Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: frederick...@tsundere.moe Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Task switcher starts from second task when active screen is changed by mouse moves instead of clicks. As a result, the third task is brought to front by Alt-Tab while it should have switched between the first 2 tasks. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Enable 'Active screen follows mouse' in System Settings -> Window Management -> Window Behaviour 2. Set Task Switcher filters in System Settings -> Window Management -> Task Switcher to: Virtual desktops => Current desktop Activities => Current activity Screens => Current screen Minimisation => Visible windows (this one shouldn't matter tho) 3. Set up 2 or more screens 4. Open at least 3 windows in 1st screen, another in 2nd 5. Click to focus a window in 1st screen 6. Click to focus a window in 2nd screen 7. Without any clicks, move mouse cursor from 2nd screen to 1st 8. Alt-Tab (optionally keep Alt pressed down to see visualisation) OBSERVED RESULT 3rd window in 1st screen is brought to front. EXPECTED RESULT 2nd window in 1st screen is brought to front. [Discover] [Bug 410549] PPA's without a valid release file will cause Discover to stop displaying all APT repositories
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=410549 --- Comment #21 from leftcrane --- I wouldn't bet on this bug having been "fixed" by accident. It's been around for ages on both Gnome Software and Discover. It's hard to reproduce. If you play around with enough repositories you will eventually corrupt the cache. If you're on neon, I can only suggest adding a bunch of PPAs and waiting for the bug to crop up. Gnome software is totally borked on my system (now it says I'm not connected to the internet LOL), so maybe I could still answer some diagnostic questions. Discover is working fine except for the apt sources list being blank. Not sure how long it will last though. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kmymoney] [Bug 411964] I can not load my personal data from an KAddressbook.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411964 --- Comment #12 from Jack --- I do have the file .config/emailidentities but I have no idea what applications write to it. There is a "Default Identity" but I have no idea what this number is, or where else it might be used. Under Identity #0 (the only one) the Default Domain is actually the hostname, not the domain name I use (.home) and the Identity is Unnamed. I suspect if I can find what tool I can use to write to this file, it will solve the problem, and I can update the manual appropriately. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kmymoney] [Bug 411964] I can not load my personal data from an KAddressbook.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411964 --- Comment #11 from Jack --- I will not have time to actually test this for myself until tomorrow, but although I use KMyMoney and KAddressBook, I do NOT use KMail, and see no other way to set this ownership. In my case, the button is enabled, but clicking it (on either the New File or Personal Data dialog) gives me the error. I also note that the error is from KMyMoney, not from KAddressBook, but I have not yet traced through the code to see exactly what is happening to trigger showing the error. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[frameworks-kio] [Bug 409607] Dolphin crashes after copying duplicate named folders twice and cancelling one
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=409607 --- Comment #3 from Ahmad Samir --- Steps to reproduce: - Open dolpin, copy folder A to some destination twice and keep the asFileRename dialog open - Repeat for folder B - Now from the plasma widget cancel the job for folder A (order is important), the dialog is closed as expected - Then cancel the job for folder B, from the widget or the dialog, doesn't matter, and dolphin seg faults The crash seems to happen in NotificationManager::JobPrivate::kill()[1], it emits cancelRequested() and the copy job is finished and askFileRename is closed correctly, but KIO::JobUiDelegate::askFileRename doesn't return; only after you cancel the second dialog, askFileRename returns twice (for both jobs), so the first one doesn't return until the second returns (confirmed by throwing some debug lines in KIO::JobUiDelegate::askFileRename). [HIG] [Bug 106807] 'Full Screen' option should really be in the 'View' menu
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106807 Nate Graham changed: What|Removed |Added Resolution|--- |FIXED Status|CONFIRMED |RESOLVED --- Comment #24 from Nate Graham --- So it looks like https://techbase.kde.org/Projects/Usability/Meetings/2009Feb21#Menubar:_Settings_vs._View_menus_and_where_to_put_toolbar_visibility eventually got written and does in fact recommend putting view-related items in the View menu rather than the settings menu. I also polled the current HIG team (of which I am a member) and nobody opposed this. So we can and should move the Full Screen action to the View menu. This change needs to be made in each and every individual KDE app that currently has it in the settings menu, which means that we need new bug reports for each and every affected app (like the Okular bug: Bug 163493). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kdenlive] [Bug 412039] New: Auto mask is several kinds of horribly broken
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=412039 Bug ID: 412039 Summary: Auto mask is several kinds of horribly broken Product: kdenlive Version: 19.08.1 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Effects & Transitions Assignee: vpi...@kde.org Reporter: darxus-...@chaosreigns.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY I'm trying to use it to obscure a license plate in a video, using kdenlive-19.08.1-x86_64.appimage on ubuntu. The red rectangle that's supposed to surround the obscured area often doesn't - it's around some other random spot on the video. Several times parts of the video I've already done have become unaligned, and I've had to do them over again. I just tried to add a second auto mask to a section of the video, and dragging that one around caused the other one to move to a randomly different position. It has crashed on me a couple times. I'll go to the beginning of a clip, click auto mask's analyze, it won't get the alignment quite right, I'll do exactly the same thing again, and it'll get it right. I don't know for certain that that part's a bug, but if that randomness is intentional it would surprise me. The motion tracking is pretty disappointing. I wonder if that could be related to the misalignment of the red box with the obscured area - maybe it's doing tracking based on the position of the red box? (Not really related, but I'd much rather have a single solid color than pixelation, since with enough frames, pixelation can be reversed.) STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Try to use auto mask OBSERVED RESULT Sadness. It's tough to tell what of the console output might be useful from my last crash, but here's the end of it: ### ClipController::updateProducer ### ClipController::addmasterproducer ### JOB finished 426 ### loadjob COMMIT ### ProjectClip::setproducer ### ClipController::updateProducer ### ClipController::addmasterproducer ### JOB finished 323 ### JOB finished 415 ### JOB finished 407 ### JOB finished 411 /tmp/.mount_kdenliUzw0iw/AppRun: line 26: 13726 Segmentation fault (core dumped) kdenlive --config kdenlive-appimagerc $@ -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[digikam] [Bug 412017] Wish: Do not activate an album when *right*-clicking on it
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=412017 --- Comment #2 from Jens --- Exactly: Right clicking is not "selecting", and should not behave this way. It's basically the difference between asking e.g. for price and schedule (properties), and buying a ticket (walking through the entrance). Many other apps (eg. KDE Dolphin) behave the same. Right-clicking (and context menu selection) does not "activate" an entry, it just shows the properties. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

What's actually happening, is that Spectacle is flooding it with notifications at high rate: org.kde.plasma.notifications: Failed to generate job text for job with following properties: org.kde.plasma.notifications: processedFiles = 0 , totalFiles = 0 , current file name = "Screenshot_20190919_2-5192.png" , destination url string = "" org.kde.plasma.notifications: label1 = "File" , value1 = "/home/bernie/Desktop/Screenshot_20190919_2-5192.png" , label2 = "" , value2 = "" org.kde.plasma.notifications: Failed to generate job text for job with following properties: org.kde.plasma.notifications: processedFiles = 0 , totalFiles = 0 , current file name = "Screenshot_20190919_2-5193.png" , destination url string = "" org.kde.plasma.notifications: label1 = "File" , value1 = "/home/bernie/Desktop/Screenshot_20190919_2-5193.png" , label2 = "" , value2 = "" The number at the end of the filename keeps incrementing forever. [palapeli] [Bug 411940] Menu Bar shows "No Text"
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411940 --- Comment #6 from Christoph Feck --- Linux Mint 18 is old and thus only offers old software versions. You can either download Mint 19 from https://www.linuxmint.com/download.php or try other recent Linux distributions. Note that Mint developers couldn't cope with the speed of releases of KDE software, and decided to no longer support a KDE based Mint version. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
