Maybe true. digiKam is the only software running on this instance that is

Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal

  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
I'm editing an old poster from a saved template of mine. I'm clicking on a text
layer with the text tool. It won't select. Therefore I can't click "Edit Text"
in the Tool Options.

Often when I try to click on the text layer (with the text tool) I have to
click just a little beneath and off to the left literally OFF the text
layer, but there will be the actual text box that corresponds to the final
layer.

As long as I'm talking about editing text, two last things:
- Very often, if I try to copy-paste text into the Text Edit window, as soon as
I click on Save/Apply, the program will freeze and crash on me.
- Lastly, I appreciate that in the text Tool Options I can customize the
character spacing. But in Photoshop there are sooo many more options. Small
Caps, supertext, subtext, and most imporantly (for my anyway), Paragraph Style
editing so I can adjust the Line Spacing!! I'd love to be able to create one
block of text and bunch the lines of text closer together... but instead I have
to create them as two separate layers.

Thanks for your help! I love what you guys are doing!

[kate] [Bug 412798] New: Feature Request Enlarge text encoding/decoding capability to include BD mpls files

2019-10-09 Thread Scott
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=412798

Bug ID: 412798
Summary: Feature Request Enlarge text encoding/decoding
capability to include BD mpls files
   Product: kate
   Version: 19.04.3
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: encoding
  Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: shagooser...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 123116
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=123116=edit
mpls example file

Enable Kate to read the .mpls files on a Blu-ray disk.

Currently attempting to open this type of file with Kate returns the following
message:
The file /MOVIE/BDMV/PLAYLIST/00800.mpls was opened with UTF-8 encoding but
contained invalid characters.
It is set to read-only mode, as saving might destroy its content.
Either reopen the file with the correct encoding chosen or enable the
read-write mode again in the tools menu to be able to edit it.

Selecting any of the available encodings from the tools menu does not fix the
problem.

A file encoding query returns:
file -bi 00800.mpls application/octet-stream; charset=binary

The mpls files in a BD are used to allow the player to know what to play and in
what order and are necessary to convert the movie into other formats, for
example, mkv.

I have attached a sample file.

Exporting to pdf on Windows also breaks pages inside lines.

A workaround is to export the report to a html file and print it with a
browser. I tested firefox, which adds page breaks not inside lines.

For macOS, it's difficult to recommend anything but Wacom. MacOS has a tiny
market-share and runs on expensive hardware, so the 2nd tier tablet makers more
or less feel that there isn't much of a market for cheap display tablets there.

Theoretically, the most trusted option should be an iPad Pro with a pencil in
tablet modus. I believe Apple added that recently, but I haven't tested it
myself.

OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR

Application: systemsettings5 (5.16.90)

Qt Version: 5.14.0
Frameworks Version: 5.62.0
Operating System: Linux 5.3.1-arch1-1-ARCH x86_64
Distribution: "Arch Linux"

-- Information about the crash:
- Unusual behavior I noticed:
icons missing/offset
kvantum theme broke
lag opening some menus
crash report does not give much info
- Custom settings of the application:
kvantum theme
papirus-dark

it seems like svgs are offset and that
sorry if this is a dupe I have no idea what this would be classified as and im

Same thing here after update to Qt 5.14 beta1.
And kwin_wayland causes high cpu usage while cursor is positioned on Qt apps
running natively on Wayland. High cpu usage stops if cursor is positioned
on Xwayland apps.

Searching for "corrupted mysql.proc table" told me that I had to run

That fixed everything. Now digiKam 6.0.0 initialized all tables and runs
perfectly :)

Thank your very much for your help and sorry for any inconvenience.

The icon for emojis at the left navigation bar jumps back and forth. See short
video attached.

[skrooge] [Bug 412360] All items entered are gone

2019-10-09 Thread Dave
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=412360

Well after the successful installation of 2.20.0 on my wifes computer earlier
today this evening l made a back up copy of my current Skrooge files on a
removable usb. I verified all was there then took the USB out of my computer.I
then proceeded with the process you sent (below) to remove the program and
reinstall however when completed l still had the 2.15.0 version.I then thought
of all the previous attempts and different formats l had previously tried to
update the program. I had downloaded flatpac, tar balls and the PPA's you had
given me months ago and l began to think that maybe there was still a hidden
version somewhere on the computer that it kept loading giving me the 2.15.0
again.I then removed all of the files in my computer that had any connection to
the Skrooge program..removed all previous back ups, any files stored in
Documents, checked my Download files, User files Temp files and could not
locate any more Skrooge related files.I then proceed to once again follow the
instructions you had provided and when completed the Skrooge program was still
there in the 2.15.0 version all intact with my files still in place.I was
assuming it would have resulted in a clean install with a blank document to
which l was going to add the files l had saved onto the USB.I am so frustrated
after having the installation go so well on my wifes computer. What can you
suggest that l do to remove all traces of the 2.15.0 ? Is there possibly a
complete system scan that l can perform to find any files that may be hidden
deeper in the computer?I can continue with my daily business using my wifes
computer but that would be inconvenient for both of us.Dave

Oups, my fault:
You just have to do that:
sudo apt remove skrooge*
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:s-mankowski/ppa-kf5
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install skrooge-kf5

Hi, could you please make a separate bug reports for every individual issue you
have? All "please add options like in PS" wishes can be in one, but all issues
like freeze or where do you need to click must be in separate reports and
separately from the wishes. That way it's much easier for developers - they
take one report, fix it and mark it fixed :) Then take another report, fix it
and voila, you have two issues fixed :)

You can use this report to mention one issue and make new bug reports for all
other issue mentioned in your desciption.

Thanks for understanding!

Could someone clarify Comment 22? What does it meant by 'used', does it simply
mean read?

Perhaps I am missing it but I cannot find a way to write to a sidecar named
$BASENAME.xmp, which is the use case that most people are concerned about when
discussing interoperability (ie read _and_ write).

For better or worse many RAW processors use $BASENAME.xmp, including Capture
One (which doesn't have DAM features!), and so writing to these files from
digiKam is an essential aspect of interoperability.

If writing to $BASENAME.xmp is provided as an option it will greatly increase
the appeal of digiKam to new users. Think of the glory, and the donations! I
would happily make a donation if digiKam suited this use case (sadly, without
that option this powerful application is useless to me).

Git commit da5a240daf90407769772eeeb01ee87b1ff88705 by Boudewijn Rempt, on

Committed on 09/10/2019 at 08:40.
Pushed by rempt into branch 'krita/4.2'.

Disable adjustmentlayer support on the raindrop filter.

By rule of thumb, filters that cannot multithread should not
be allowed as adjustment layers, (which are, afaik, multithreaded)
so I am half wodering if we should not somehow hardcode whether or
not adjustment layers are supported based on the availability of
multithread, but regardless, it's best to disable adjustment layers
on this specific filter.

[kmymoney] [Bug 412750] New: No xml export for reports

2019-10-09 Thread Ralf Habacker
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=412750

Bug ID: 412750
Summary: No xml export for reports
   Product: kmymoney
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: unspecified
OS: All
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: exporter
  Assignee: kmymoney-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: ralf.habac...@freenet.de
  Target Milestone: ---

The kmymoney report engine allows the export of reports in csv and html format,
what is currently missing is an export in XML format.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. start kmymoney
2. open a file
3. open a report
4. click on 'export'
5. Inspect the list of extensions

OBSERVED RESULT
There are entries for csv and html, but not xml.

EXPECTED RESULT
There should be an entry for xml too

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
XML is used as an exchange format in many applications and supports more
complex exports than csv allows.

Fix Crop tool loosing aspect ratio on move

Previously there was no check for boundaries after the new
rect position is calculated. Before applying any offset on
move drag we check we no longer go ouside of the
image bounds.

For aspect ratio we keep aspect ratio growing into the
image instead of outwards getting some weird behaviour

Fix Rec2020 display format

This commit contains changes to smpte shader to fix the black screen
in Rec2020 display format on Windows.
Before this commit it was broken because of two things:
- r=pow(x, y) in ANGLE is compiled into t=log(x); t=t*y; r=e^t
which in case of 0 resulted in undefined behaviour, in this case...
alpha = 1.0, even though the line was: pow(0, 1), qhich means
the correct result should be 0.0, not 1.0.
- changed order of painting UI and canvas; before it was first UI,
then canvas. After the order was reversed, so the 0.0 alpha started
to be crucial for canvas to be shown from underneath the UI.

[digikam] [Bug 412650] Can't uninstall and reinstall digikam properly on macOS - preferences remain, no first run dialog

2019-10-09 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=412650

Hi,

Thanks for your proposal to patch documentation about uninstall procedure.

Documentation is hosted in a dedicated gitlab repository :

https://invent.kde.org/kde/digikam-doc

You can checkout this repository and make a patch of text file (docbook
format), to add a new 'uninstall' section. Docbook format is XML like syntax,
with large section of text. It's not really complicated.

create a new file named "intro-uninstall.docbook" and write content inside with
a similar syntax than "intro-imageformats.docbook".

https://invent.kde.org/kde/digikam-doc/blob/master/digikam/intro-imageformats.docbook

Attach your file to this bugzilla entry. No need to compile the documentation,
i will do it, embed this file in documentation stream. and fix syntax if
necessary.

Best

Thanks for your quick response Maik.

So digiKam will default to reading and writing to $BASENAME.xmp if it finds one
already existing. That's very helpful to know.

This still presents a problem for a typical use case, where the user imports
and manages new images through digiKam but processes the RAW files in (say)
Capture One. In this case digiKam will create $BASENAME.EXT.xmp files, which
Capture One will not be aware of. A common workflow would be rating newly
imported images in digiKam, and sorting by these in Capture One for editing
(and even changing the ratings or some other metadata in the RAW processor. eg
to indicate editing complete and ready for printing).

It remains the case that user control over xmp file naming would be very
helpful and open digiKam to other users.

One probably needs to install ffmpeg even if you're using appimages. But you
already do it. Nevertheless, can you please tell us what is the version of
ffmpeg you're using? When you open the Render Animation dialog, there is a text
box for a path to ffmpeg, can you please copy it and paste into a console and
add --version and click enter and copy here what you've got?

Can you please show a screenshot of your Render Animation dialog just before
clicking ok? And a screenshot of "Both" tab just to see what the Video options
are. It might be the scaled size that makes the difference...

@Ahab - I'm not sure if it's really not a bug because the dialog depends on
Krita's internal checks before using ffmpeg... so something must be triggering
it...

Bug ID: 412756
Summary: Artifacts on 8 bit brushes that get composted at low
transparencies.
   Product: krita
   Version: git master
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Brush engines
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: griffinval...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 123099
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=123099=edit
On the left there's a stroke with the airbrush preset on an 16bit layer, on the
right it's on the 8bit layer. Observe the weird pattern on the right at full
brightness.

SUMMARY
8bit brush compositing has artifacts compared to 16bit brush compositing. This
is most clear when using a soft low slow brush, as the artifacts compound.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Make an 8bit canvas and a 16bit canvas
2. Take brush with a soft or gaussian mask at low flow and low spacing.
3. Draw a few strokes on both.

OBSERVED RESULT
At full brightness, there's clear artifacts on the 8bit image and not on the
16bit image.

EXPECTED RESULT
Minimal difference between the 8 and 16bit images. Preferably full smoothness.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Ok, so we actually discussed this one thoroughly in the IRC:

There's three places we can do something:

1. The compositing in the brush engine. This is how a similar problem was
solved with the color smudge brush. However, this will only work for wash mode,
and not for the build-up mode.
2. it can be fixed at the level of sse-compositions and mask processors. They
already have floating point representations, so we can just make rounding more
fuzzy. This is the most likely candidate, and right now there's discussion in
the IRC on the fastest dithering method(or rather, the fastest randomness
method) we can think of)
3. 16bit(or higher) brush masks. This is something no other program seems to
have and will require a lot of time, so this is more a feature. This will make
the 16bit example smoother too.

[plasmashell] [Bug 366047] sni proxy scaling not always appropriate

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=366047

Konrad Materka changed:

I think we can remove the code responsible for icon scaling from
xembedsniproxy:

if (w != s_embedSize || h != s_embedSize) {
qCDebug(SNIPROXY) << "Scaling pixmap of window" << m_windowId << Title() <<
"from w*h" << w << h;
m_pixmap = m_pixmap.scaled(s_embedSize, s_embedSize, Qt::KeepAspectRatio,
Qt::SmoothTransformation);
}

As we are scaling the client window down, it will only be performed on icons
smaller that 32x32. It will be scaled up anyway in the StatusNofierItem.qml,
from systemtray applet - this is a better place for that.

[gwenview] [Bug 412738] Issue with multi-head + fractional scaling

2019-10-09 Thread Christoph Cullmann
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=412738

Hmm, I am astonished.

Actually, QPixmap has a own overload "qreal devicePixelRatio"
(https://doc.qt.io/qt-5/qpixmap.html#devicePixelRatio) that overwrites the
wrong https://doc.qt.io/qt-5/qpaintdevice.html#devicePixelRatio

The QPixmap variant is save, the other not.
Thought for me this commit did for sure remove all artifacts.
That is strange :/

Let's revert that again.
